Would you wear this?
Johnny Rotten Destroy Shirt

I completely disagree. In my opinion they're the most boring and inane way of portraying your "personality"

Wow, you like music?! Cool! Do you also enjoy pizza?!

The only band shirt I can think of that you could pull off in a stylized outfit would probably be The Misfits just because its the quintessential punk shirt.

uh-huh

I'm genuinely glad we disagree :)

This. Also I've been rocking these for a few years:

What a bad opinion this is.

If you base your entire personality around shallow posturing, sure, but you can wear a band t-shirt because you genuinely enjoy the band and don't mind other people knowing it. Shocking, I know.

Totally agree and for some reason it bugs me even more when watching live music.

Not even that would work because its so painfully obvious that it's a band shirt

My two favourites:

Boris - Dronevil

The print on this is actually black, nice and subtle.

Wutang, Sonic Youth, RATM - Definitely the 90s was the last time wearing a band shirt was acceptable.
Everything since then is pretty much Hot Topic Shopping Mall clothing.

I had many, many NIN shirts from 1990-on in college. All worn out now.

Now that I'm in my 40s, in a professional career, a husband and a dad - I needed tasteful one

so I now rock this guy:
