You like them? I personally want to get some for general running.

that's what i use them for. be careful though--my feet/ankles/legs weren't acclimated to them, and i got a little tendonitis or something that was pretty fierce. i had to get a cortisone shot to reduce the swelling.

still, they're really comfortable, and quite awesome.

No offense Rez, but I always thought you would be much more of a geek.

Congrats on finishing btw.

Did you at least run up there?
Well, I don't know if that's supposed to be an offensive remark regarding my weight, but yes, I am at the top in front of the museum, and it was a very brisk rise. I have a stupid tourist picture of myself in a Rocky pose at the top too haha.
Maybe this is an all-too-revealing defensive response showing my angst regarding my repeatedly-failed weight loss goals.

Start by drinking nothing but water for a month. Your weight loss should hopefully be enough to inspire you to extend your dietary changes.

No juice/tea/liquor/etc? What about food? Is there some cleansing food to go with water?

Sure there is. What I learned about weight loss was that discipline was probably the most important and difficult thing to attain. The switch to water ensures that there are no sugary sodas and juices coming into your diet. It is also something that is very doable and will certainly result in some decent, starting weight loss. The point is to see some loss and realize it is a trend that you want to continue. Continuing to only drink water will surely plateau your weight loss so it works better as a catalyst to serious dietary change.

In the end, there are only two certainties: A person has to want to lose weight in order to make themselves change their habits, even if it's through trickery. And the second, I'm no expert in nutrition so take my advice with a grain of salt if need be.

It may have been a Rocky reference.
