Why is it any different from saying "I agree." in a stronger manner? Actually, wait, that's all it is.

In any case, ad hominem attacks in a debate really suck.

what about when someone says "/thread" to their own post? really douchey

favorite movie? CITIZEN KANE /THREAD

While that was a good one, I still prefer full on mystery. I don't think it would work well with everything.

I always imagine the "/thread" being read out as "And thread!" by David Cross in his Tobias from Arrested Development voice: "And scene!"

That makes it funny.

I agree with everything in the OP. Especially the Youtube links and unlabelled stills, drives me nuts. If you can't make a text link, just put the description next to it, and if you can't label our pic, why should I bother trying to figure out what film or game you are referencing. Jokes are obviously different, no labels needed there.

One thing that does bug me a bit that's not in the OP is obscure thread titles, or god forbid, ellipses. Fuck off and die if you use those. I will not click on your thread, I hate you and hope bad things happen to your garden.

One new(ish) thing that really annoys me is (G/A/F?)

Yeah we get it, horrible things happen in those places but stop doing that for fucks sake

My least favorite are the folks that come in and contribute nothing to either side of a discussion.

This happens a lot in religion threads. Someone will come in, say something like, "I'm not religious, but all atheists are douches!" and then leave it at that.

Um...thanks? We know that already, what are you contributing?

I don't want to name names, here, so...

Wait, did you just take a pot-shot at ALL Atheists in a thread about shit posts..?!

This is actually some great advice. I can do that.

#3 The Shamalaqualian 'Twist' GIF
Not only is the pic fucking annoying, but you get people using it in reeeeediculous contexts, which just serves to make it even more teeth clenching.

OP: 'So I some oranges from my lesbian grocer and most of them were bad'.

Moron: 'Hey OP, oranges are not the only fruit' . Shamalam gif.

Anything that starts 'ITT', these generalisations are always useless and way off base.
Anything that ends '/thread' especially when '/thread' is in response to a comment that clearly didn't end the thread.
People that don't capitalise 'I'.
Single Smiley replies.

Glad I got that off my chest.

People who automatically start the backfire train on the first post no matter how reasonable the OP is.

Yes, that is extremely annoying.

How about teams of people who glut up threads with shit like, "Oh boy, I can't wait to see the bitter tears!!" I've seen pages spent on jizzing over predictions of the reaction of various gaf groups to a bit of news. That shit's the worst.

Finally, whenever someone falls for drinky, and scores of posters rush to show off how they always knew. "Lol... every time!" Read- "ain't I cool and in the know?"

(edit) one more.

People who rush to be the first reply to an op with some cookie cutter bullshit that is neither funny, original, or remotely on topic.

yeah that picture is obnoxious

I hate when people don't reply to all of my posts with "Yes I agree, also you are fantastic and perfect and handsome and the best poster."

Ooo, I have some:
1. A quote followed by either: "this" or "." - pet peeve!

2. Especially when you are arguing and you post a long explanation and the person replying will quote only a TINY part ignoring your entire point.

3. Those forumers that tend to post only 1-2 sentences per post and try to come up with the most witty things to say. Keep it short and you can't ruin your e-status... then they are always the ones to make fun of those that post longer.

4. When someone uses your avatar as a response. Yea I get this a lot now and yea I'll probably get it for this post.

5. When random newbies (with 1 post) post in contest or free stuff threads.

6. People that have a hard time identifying a light hearted or sarcastic post.

7. When female posters are immune to any criticism/flames on a forum.

8. /b/ shenanigans

Yea, not all posting habits but general forum habits that annoy me.

This. Totally agree - you are one of the better posters here, if not the best. And damn you are handsome (not in a gay way).
totally in a gay way

- Posting links (especially YouTube videos) without any indication at all of what the link is about or in the very least any hint as to how it relates to the discussion. If I'm at work or reading GAF from my phone, your post may as well be invisible. Well done, you just wasted your time searching for and posting a link I'm never going to follow.

Why don't you just stop being a little bitch and install this? http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/60843

I don't like the posts that attack someone when they don't know something and are asking for help.
"How do I......?"
"EVERYONE knows how to do that! How come you don't know that?! What's wrong with you?! I've known everything about that since I was 4."
It doesn't add anything to a thread and it's annoying.

People that always end their post with either their nick, or some random word ( like "peace" for instance ). I just don't see the reasoning for doing it.

That guy that posted using a 80 character limit. My phone went bonkers over it and it was just really irritating to read. We are no longer living in the 80's and neither are you writing code.

There are very few things that annoy me here, but Kittonwy really boils my piss.

I've adjusted this post to reflect its underpinning (and, may I say, widely shared) sentiment.

This. Always gives me the "must be a douchebag" vibe.

PC gamer master race bullshit. Seriously unfunny.

Do you mean the console gamers that call PC gamers that, or PC gamers that act like elitist idiots all the time? Both of them are just as annoying IMO...

Personally I hate hate hate it in Reading/listening threads where someone just posts an image. No title, no clues, no fucking content. You know, I would like some fucking discussion on this discussion board sometimes. Tell me why you liked something, what you thought of it? If it's a book what's it about? If it's music what style is it, best songs, links?? IMO it should be a bannable offense, it just shits up the forum.

On the flipside I love love love posters that provide the details and I have found a fuckton of awesome books and music because of this.

I also dislike list threads for similar reason. Worse than anything else it's a boring read.

The one thing I don't understand are "joke characters".

And people who 'confirm' them are just fueling their ego.

I find it ridiculous that rather than posting their true opinion, they use a fake persona to get reactions out of people.

Edit: Also, the puns. Like, seriously? Some are funny when they point to something that occurred recently or is relevant, but people who just post them for teh lulz try too hard.

"Is it just me or...."
"Am I the only one who...."

I feel like Hulk Smashing when I see those thread titles. Yes, fuck you, you are the ONLY ONE, you narcissistic fuck!

Is it just me or does that upset you? :lol :lol :lol

I was going to be a dick and do a joke post but:

- That when porn is posted here, some people actually quoted the picture in question to get banned as well. Come on guys.

That doesn't annoy me as much as it makes me laugh.

Put me in the camp for people that hate catchphrases or sign offs on here. Like "PEACE" and whatnot. Just makes me want to punch the person.

When people jump into a pages long conversation at the end and pick something out that was already discussed. I get angry very quickly when that happens, and it happens a lot on the gaming side.

viciouskillersquirrel said:
- Sign-offs. Finish off every post with a delightful catch-phrase on a forum where nobody else does it and I can guarantee that you will look like an idiot or a poser. Perhaps both.

It's far from the worst forum crime, but for some reason this always ticked me off, yeah.

Though someone at another forum always ended with 'WHO LOVES YA BABY?!' combined with a thumbs up jesus avatar.

In general some people don't even have the decency to read the OP, thus posting totally uncalled-for shit.

Like the guy that asked about remedies concerning a wart on his chin and a bunch of people posted "just tape it for a couple of weeks". I was so angry, I gave them a good capslocked post!!
