The illuminati are the elite that control civilization. They practice the same occult black magic of the rulers of ancient times and claim to be descendants of royal bloodlines dating back to Egypt. Most of this black magic is based on the kabbalah and numerology. The purpose is to manipulate the masses and direct the course of civilization for their agenda. This is why there is a lot of occult symbolism, gestures, numbers and dates in our modern culture that relate to their practice of black magic. There's a lot of this going on in pop culture, because pop culture is one of the major influences on the masses, especially the youth. Many music video's & lyrics contain occult symbolism and messages. You can also recognize hand/body gestures; the sign of the horn being the most famous one. One of the important symbols is the eye of Horus (the eye on your dollar bill, the CBS eye). Kanye West is wearing the head of Horus in this video. Many famous pop stars have referred to (selling their soul to) demons. Kanye even admitted this on stage once. Jay-Z talks about getting into "rain man" before he blew up, and how "rain man" is giving him these "amazing numbers". Jay-Z's clothingline, Roc-a-Wear, is also filled with occult symbols. In order to become succesfull in pop culture one must swear allegiance to the same group that control pop culture. This is like selling your soul to the devil, because once you're in you're sworn to secrecy, you will serve their agenda and once you're in, you will never go out, unless you want to pay the ultimate price. Some are even said to be ritually sacrificed like Michael Jackson (people think he was very much aware and the reason he made the song "They don't really care about us"), because he died on the same day as Farrah Fawcet and Sky Saxon. 3 is an important number in numerology and so is the date, 25. Latoya Jackson knows this, because when she first heard about Farrah Fawcet's death on that day asked herself "I wonder who's next, because it always happens in three's".
There's a lot of written material on the internet, in books and many video's on youtube on this subject if you just use searchterms as illuminati and pop culture, culture creation, mind control.
If you're looking for an introduction into the whole illuminati deal & the big picture, not focused on pop culture, I suggest watching The Calling (8 parts) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxjTA78LJ38&feature=player_embedded I think Zeitgeist is also a good introduction level documentary. I found the part about the central banking system particulary interesting.
wat.

Your bad joke >>>>> my bad joke.

Good show, sir.

Fantastic video it gets people talking and that’s the goal. I loved it because the amount of hip-hop blogs that spend time analyzing Jay-Z & Rihanna music videos for illuminati and satanic images would have a field day with this. :lol It reminds me of the days when Michael Jackson premiered a new video and every channel showed it the same time.

I wish Kanye stopped with this half-assing music video thing. There is no reason why this couldn't of been a full length music video, he did the same thing with Flashing Lights...

Except Flashing Lights had 3 videos (same with Jesus Walks)
Blame BET/MTV for not showing the real version of that video where the chick gets raped at the end (this is considered the REAL video)

Yes. A global population that thinks and acts in the same way that is led by 1 world government = ultimate form of control.
There's a theory that one of the ways to achieve this is to create a global common enemy; evil aliens. This is based on the fact that now mainstream media is reporting a lot of ufo sightings and even governments are now more open to it. The UK government just released all it's ufo/et files that used to be secret, to the public in the national archives: http://ufos.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ . There's also a government program going on that is militarizing and weaponizing space, as if to prepare for some kind of enemy. And ofcourse there's the speech by Ronald Reagan at the UN general embassy in 1998 where he literally said "In our obsession with antagonisms of the moment, we often forget how much unites all the members of humanity. Perhaps we need some outside, universal threat to make us recognize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world"

lol I thought "Illuminati" when I first saw the video as well. The internet conspiracy theorists are going to have a field day with this one.

People who believe in these things want something to be true, which is not, or at least, does not have sufficient evidence for. If the Illuminati are all powerful and super secretive, why would they encode their message in a lady gaga or kanye west music video?

Was expecting some overly indulgent boring shit.

That was actually a really enjoyable video with a really nice visual theme. Track's not bad either.

That video is one big, long, hard, cream filled ego stroke for the man-child Kanye West.

It's funny how much this boy loves himself :lol

Pretty fucking epic, even if it doesn't fit the tone of the song at all for me. Also weirdly short, but I guess you can't hold that for 5 minutes. Still crazy, in a good way though. Has this done before? Seems like such an easy concept when you think about it, the moving portrait music video, I'd be surprised if he realyl was the first time implement in a big time way.

I thought it fit the song pretty well, actually. The pace of the video and the harmony and beats take a laid back role and let the vocals and the visual spectacle do the work. I dig it.

As far as the effects go, I only know Brambila by some of his work, not by name, but it's not a surprise that it came from him. West has always had a knack for surrounding himself with a lot of interesting design personalities, back since all that Nigo-era shit that he was saturating himself in; love or hate his music, he's certainly good when it comes to this.

It was beginning to remind me of zoomquilt for a quick sec.

Well, he did say he likes to ride his own dick in the song ...

From wikipedia:

###

The Damocles of the anecdote was an obsequious courtier in the court of Dionysius II of Syracuse, a fourth century BC tyrant of Syracuse. Damocles exclaimed that, as a great man of power and authority, Dionysius was truly fortunate. Dionysius offered to switch places with him for a day, so that Damocles could taste first hand that fortune. In the evening a banquet was held where Damocles very much enjoyed being waited upon like a king. Only at the end of the meal did he look up and notice a sharpened sword hanging directly above his head by a single horse-hair. Immediately, he lost all taste for the fine foods and beautiful companions and asked leave of the tyrant, saying he no longer wanted to be so fortunate.[1][4]

Dionysius had successfully conveyed a sense of the constant fear in which the great man lives. Cicero uses this story as the last in a series of contrasting examples for reaching the conclusion he had been moving towards in this fifth Disputation, in which the theme is that virtue is sufficient for living a happy life.[5] Cicero asks

"Does not Dionysius seem to have made it sufficiently clear that there can be nothing happy for the person over whom some fear always looms?"

Perhaps Kanye and the director were trying to take us here?

Great video. I hope he makes a full music video with this concept, vs using this "promo" video to build up hype on the web and then release something completely different as the full video to save money.

I like it, and this is also the first time i've actually listened to the song itself. Really good.
