Wild Force so far:

"What... is happening?"

"blah blah blah"

"But... why?"

"We have no clue."

I remember liking Ninja Storm as a kid, too. Is that any better?

My friend is telling me Ninja storm sucks. I've honestly forgotten. I know the villains are really cheesy and bumbling and there's a cgi hamster mentor, but other than that...
I found Ninja Storm to be a surprisingly refreshing change of pace after 5 years of melodrama, especially when WF failed so miserably at it. Don't get me wrong, I overall prefer the drama and given the choice between NS or Hexagon I'd choose Hexagon anyday. But I was surprised at myself at how much I was liking it. Sometimes a breather season is just needed to break up stagnation.

Lothor is a hella underrated villain.

Wild Force isn't "bad". It's really not terrible. But...It's so meandering and strange. That fact that it followed a legitimately great season of television makes it appear even worse. The biggest sin is that I don't care about the Rangers. Only the villains are interesting.

This sums up how I feel so far. Only Zen-Aku has been interesting to me and I want to see/know more about him. So, this arc involving him has fully gotten my attention finally.

I've been out since the end of Zeo. (Fuck Turbo)

What has the viewer counts been like since then?

Probably will watch Forever Red or dat Jason and Tommy.

Hovered around 20k or so on off-peak NA hours (give or take a couple thousand); got to 30k with Time Force's finale earlier. During most of Lightspeed, it was around 25-28k iirc, but that's because that was on the weekend, so more people could watch it.

return the slab...

I finally get why this season is so boring. This show barely uses background music. There are so many scenes in each episode where it's just someone talking with silence all around them. That's a good technique to use sporadically but not all the time.

Watching Wild Force made me realize that as bad as this season is, it's the only season to do the animal zord theme any justice. They're not just zords to the rangers. This crew really cares for each and every one of their zords as if they were family. I give em props for that.

After Time Force and the like, I hate how Wild Force does the credits. I miss the freeze frame and tbc's.

It does have that but this version doesn't show it

I knew I wasn't crazy! You can head the zord combining in the credit, they just have the text taking up the full screen.

I know because mob mentality is boss right? /s
No, but Power Rangers in its current state pales in comparison to MMPR-TF and NS-RPM (skipped WF because nobody wants that again). Watching this marathon really put into perspective how bad current series are. Yeah, the production values are higher and they can give us good suits and sometimes good fights. I won't even say the actors are bad either. The problem is the dang story and how they speak to the audience.

They treat the viewers like they're toddlers. Power Rangers may be a kids show but In Zeo, In Space, and Time Force show that although it may be a kid show, you don't have to cater to your lowest denominator. You can tell proper stories with arcs and character development and world building while still appealing to kids. Go watch Steven Universe, Gumball, Clarence, Harvey Beaks, or even Adventure Time to see what kids shows are today. Then compare how those shows treat kids to how Power Rangers treats kids. It's like we're watching an after-school special instead of a series that was almost a prime-time TV show.

Samurai copied everything from its Japanese (JP) counterpart EXCEPT for the actual character-developing moment, leaving a bunch of people that have one-dimetional personalities. I will admit that Jayden (Samurai Red) goes through a very slight shift from loner to team player, but it happened in two episodes. It's ridiculous

Megaforce is a season that deserves a thread for how many problem it has, but at its core are the bland characters. Troy (red ranger) is more robotic than the actual robot on their team. These people were supposed to be PEOPLE, yet for whatever reason, Tzachor or someone on the team felt the need to strip the rangers of their personalities. Gia has it the worst. Her team at least has some qualities. Gia's just the spunky yellow ranger who's best friends with Emma. That's it. And don't even get me started on Super Megaforce Silver. This dude had so much potential that was squandered.

Have they revealed the
Soccer Zord
yet

Think of it as Lost Galaxy's level.

Zen-Aku's blade reminds me of something that I'd see in a souls game.

Looks like a Klingon weapon.

The problem with Neo Saban is that somehow they are 90's shows existing in 2010's
