I know it's early, but I still don't really know what this show is or what the driving motivation behind anything really is... In Space really went for 'genre' beyond just sentai and "teeeeeens".

Like, okay, humanity wants to find a new home. But like... how does that tie into the Power Ranger thing? I mean I enjoy the notion of space exploration but... yeah not feeling this. Nor the cast outside of Blue.

Well... atleast they're not in fucking high school.

Think we just need more time to settle into the new season. Weird adjustment to make, but I'm sure everyone will feel better about it overall as it goes on.

The general consensus is that the Z-Wave only wiped out all the evil presently attacking the universe. Evils not currently active were left to be someone else's problem.

SPD has its share of issues, though it looks better compared to a lot of what came after.
 
What's like the consensus Top 5 for Power Rangers? Google's giving me weird shit, like Turbo in the Top 5 (which IMO it is, cause Turbo was awesome fuck you). But like the generic Top 5 from most fans. Like the canonical top 5.
 
Dino Thunder is better than SPD; don't go spreading lies. SPD is only good for it's beginning and ending; Dino Thunder is good all throughout.

The 1st season of Dino Charge starts off pretty good; but it falls apart in Season 2.

Dino Thunder as a nostalgia feel to it with Tommy and the dino theme. I do like the three ranger teams though that it and Ninja Storm had before more showed up. I would rank SPD above it as well though. It's evil ranger is pretty good though. I really like what they did with that in Dino Thunder.

I started watchign Dino Charge but lost track of it after the first few episodes. It reminded me a lot of the MMPR in it's setup and it's likely on purpose too. Was okay with the little I did see. I do want to see the full thing though.

Honestly. I would just come back for the next one. It's much more thematically coherent. It's about using ranger powers as first responders essentially.

Wild card slot depending on one's tastes. Though Lightspeed Rescue, Lost Galaxy and SPD commonly fill it.

But as always, it varies from person to person.
 
i watched a few episodes of SPD but im pretty sure I tapped out around lost galaxy time force era. Honestly I dont even remember much of lost galaxy and time force

canonical top 4 doesnt make sense.

but the most well regarded in no order are rpm, time force, and in space, then it kinda becomes preference from there

Everyone will give you a different answer; but each list will probably have RPM, In Space,and Time Force somewhere in it.

Bug dudes were in Maya's home galaxy, right? Presumably all of In Space was confined to the Milky Way Galaxy, so a galaxy-wide goodness super beam would've taken care of all known adversaries at the time but the bug dudes were well out of range.
 
To be honest, the Galaxy Ranger/Gingaman suit design is so lame. It doesn't envoke ancient clan of nature hippie warriors. The badass swords are the only thing they have going for them.

The zord is a huge step down from the MMPR megazord..

I want to say In Space, Time Force,RPM totally sit in the upper seats for most fans. Dino Thunder is up there for me tho.
 
RPM is so weird because it takes a fucking GOOFY ass premise and a thoroughly mediocre Sentai, ignores basically all of it and just goes "Fuck it mad Max for kids!"

it helps that its aware that the source material is goofy and makes fun of it

if there was one thing i wish they would have taken from it, its definetely the goon wings instrumental, but it wouldnt fit the theme

Go-Onger could've been hilarious, it's just that the only group translating it for the longest time can't work Japanese humor into English for jack.
 
It's pretty rough to compare Lost Galaxy to In Space though because LG is the first of the entirely contained Power Rangers series. It's starting fresh, for the most part, and has to build its own thing without pulling on 5 previous seasons worth of content.

I personally really enjoyed Lost Galaxy and it's one of my higher rated ones but that has to do with the fact the show mixes a lot of things together that I like. It reminds me of a Godzilla series mixed with Power rangers because of the way the zords are setup in this. The origin of the powers and how it fits within the story is also really enjoyable to me. The day to day setup was also pretty great too because it was more sci-fi too.
