So this is Samurai, eh? What's the general consensus?

Few things:
1) Cool to see Bulk back, but Spike is certainly no Skull.
2) Why is the theme a throwback to the OG MMPR theme?
3) Why the fuck is there a god damned role call during the theme?!

2) Saban cashing in on nostalgia HARD.
3) Saban thinking kids are dumb.

Okay what's with the murder ranger thing?
And millions dead is in reference to transformations taking too long, right?

Murder Ranger is a reference to the fact that the White skeleton villain is played by the same actor who played the Wild Force Red Ranger, who admitted guilty to murder a few days ago.

Millions dead is just a reference to the insane amount of city destruction in every episode.

Deker's actor is accused of murdering his roommate. With a sword.

Millions dead is a reference to disregard to property damage in robot fights.

I think terrible is being too kind. For me Overdrive is terrible, Mystic Force is terrible, Wild Force is almost entirely terrible. This is like seventh circle of hell. This is the first time I've been exposed to anything regarding these new seasons and I'm just in shock at what they've done to the show. It's like a walking corpse that died in 2009 but nobody has the heart to say anything.

Sorry. I'm being stupid negative and I know odds are some of you must love this. I'll just go do something else until the next one.

I always ask myself how certain power ranger/sentai manage to keep themselves running. Like are they government funded? Do they have jobs?

How the hell is the samurai team staying a float.

No, pretty much everyone has been saying this, since the day Samurai came on the air. However, the show became popular again with Samurai and Nick, so it took 4 years for the guys responsible to be fired.

Believe it or not, it gets worse

Holy shit that's definitely not what I expected

In Shinkenger, they were an ancient order of samurai authorized by the government dating back to the Edo era.

In Samurai, hell if I know. That but makes less sense.

You guys keep saying this

What the hell has Power Rangers become??
A shell of its former self. Megaforce has a nonexistent story with wasted potential. The acting is slightly better, but that's not saying much. The fights are also better, which is good.

Dino Charge improved on everything, even the opening, then somehow messed up the story for Super Charge.

Ninja Steel has the highest production value, but arguably the worst script. Yeah the characters are people but the direction makes it feel like they're still talking down to you.

100 episode with two unique season (angel, and pirate theme) cram into an uninspired, poorly act, mis management, stupid plot line, a lots of dumb stupid action scene. And the rotten cherry on top of that pile of crap is the ending, where the red ranger literally throw his sword on the ground and the film end. No epilogues, no character's arc ending, no explanation. Just battle after battle, not even good battle. Welcome to Power Ranger megaforce.

Of course Elizabeth Banks would be more than capable of remaining sexy throughout the movie even after getting her appearance defiled for the role of Rita.

You're forgetting how they completely fuck up the nostalgia aspect of the season by constantly fucking up references to past seasons, mixing up things between the Sentai and PR versions of those seasons, and leaving in loads of unadapted Sentai stuff without so much as a handwave.

Dubbed sentai footage with little to no direction of what to do when they're out of suits while thinking the audience cant comprehend whats happening. Welcome to the Neo Saben era
I wonder what it'll take at this point for them to get a good story out of Power Rangers again? Hell I'd kill for something decent like LSR, SPD, or Ninja Force.

Of course! Bank on Banks.

What PR has become is a real monkey's paw.

Saban brought it back because his company made it popular, and he said that Disney hadn't been treating it right. Which is true. And after Saban reacquired it, the show had a presence like it hasn't had in decades, with Macy's Parade floats and the Boom comics and DVD releases and a big budget movie. Which is true. Saban Brands is a marketing company, and they excel at marketing. Even the comics and the movies, both being handed off to someone else, are overall pretty good.

But the actual show? Down the drain so bad. Say what you will about Disney's treatment and how they never really wanted the show in the first place, but they're at least in the business of making entertainment. Saban Brands is not Saban Entertainment. I'm not sure it ever will be.

So glad that's still remembered.

Yeah this really kills watching this & the murder. Like god damn, who knew this show would have so much trash tied to it?
There is also the fact that the Green Ranger of this season got high at a convention and started making a scene, including attempting to start a fight and climbing a hotel balcony.

The turkey is waaaay too dry.

Alright, I can't imagine this character makes any sense in this show.
Gold Ranger in Shinkenger was a commoner, a sushi seller, whereas the main rangers were all descendants of noble families. Despite not having noble heritage he was also the Red's childhood friend and aspired to be like him, so he made his own version of the transformation device that looked more like modern tech than main Samurai's calligraphy brush phones.

Here though? ResidentSleeper KappaPride
