ABOUT

Experience Capcom's newest adventure.

Nbtvx6LNbcRYxxDW.jpg

In the near future.

With it they researched Lunafilament, a material capable of replicating anything, as long as they have its data.

One day without warning, they lost all signals to the lunar research station dedicated to the research and development of this Lunafilament.

A response team was dispatched immediately.
However, a massive lunar quake hit soon after they arrived.

Hugh Williams—separated from his team, unconscious and
badly injured—is discovered by a mysterious android
in the form of a young girl.

She is a Pragmata, created using Lunafilament.

Gameplay

Pragmata is an action-adventure video game played from a third-person perspective. The player controls both Hugh and Diana at the same time, as they look for a way to escape a lunar research station infested with hostile AI robots. Hugh is equipped with a number of firearms, and a jetpack that allows him to dodge hostile attacks and reach distant areas. Bullets cannot penetrate through a robot's armor, though Diana can hack into a robot's defense system, disabling it and revealing its weak point for Hugh to attack. In each puzzle, the player must guide the cursor across the grid to reach the target tile, evading obstacles and toggling optional bonus nodes which may bring additional combat advantages such as increased weapon damage for Hugh.

The puzzles are solved in real-time, meaning that Hugh needs to dodge and evade hostile attack during each hacking sequence.

Plot

On a seemingly lifeless research station located on the moon, spacefarer Hugh and android Diana find themselves targeted by the hostile AI governing the station. The two must work together to defeat the AI and return to Earth.
It's been 5 years since the first teaser for Pragmata.

Undergoing significant developments over the years

Finally, in 4 months we will witness and experience the latest technology that Capcom will offer us with RE-Engine.

Development

Pragmata is being developed by Capcom . The video game was originally announced on June 11, 2020, during Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation 5 reveal stream, as Capcom's first original franchise in eight years.

Based on Capcom's 2021 annual report, Brian Ashcraft of Kotaku wrote, "One reason why the game looks so different from other Capcom titles is that it's the brainchild of new development staff".

Initially, it was announced for 2022, however in January 2021, Capcom announced that the game was delayed to 2023. In June 2023, Capcom released a trailer stating that the game had been delayed indefinitely. In June 2025, Capcom announced that the game would be coming out in 2026.

It was announced at the 2025 Game Awards that a demo was currently available on Steam. It was also announced that the game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 and it would also get an amiibo based on Diana.

Diana has the ability to hack into security systems, which allows her to disarm the armor of enemies and unlock doors. She also has a scanning ability that shows where to proceed.

What little is shown of the relationship between Hugh and Diana shows that the two are trying their best to get along. Despite their differences, Hugh and Diana work together to defeat the lunar facility's AI and return to Earth. Hugh carries Diana on his back during gameplay and protects her from threats.

  2. Hugh's equipment is likewise from "Lunar Life Insurance" and Babel Industries.

Loved what I played of the demo on PC but I plan on getting it in console. Will wait for Switch 2 and PS5 demos before I decide which one to go with.

Finished the demo 3 times now, cant wait for the game to come out. fun and unique combat system where you have to solve a small "puzzle" in real time while shooting in third person.

I must be the only one that found the demo boring and generic. Shame because I was interested in the game

Initially I was quite skeptical about this game. The minigame with the child robot attached to the character back seemed really annoying to me.

But after the demo, I found the minigame fun and if I turn off the characters dialogue audio the game is great.

Also, it's a play anywhere game, so it gets extra points for me.

I haven't played the demo yet (PS5 here) but this is giving me Capcom PS2 & GC mid-00's levels of vibes and I'll support it just for that by getting it day1.

I think it will be a a short-ish but memorable game that won't sell that well unfortunately but, again, that's one of the reasons I want to support it 'cause I can't do only Resident evil remakes and Street fighters when it comes to Capcom (there's also Onimusha coming in 2026 so that's something).

My crystall ball also tells me that the OST will be a banger and one of the best of this generation.

This has been too long of a wait, thank the heavens it wasn't cancelled,.can't wait to play it.

I pretty much share the same thoughts, the demo and opening song/track in the tutorial were great. Really felt that PS2/GC style. This feels like the perfect 7/10 game lol.

Yeah the little barefoot girl stuff is a weird. Certainly not surprised heimdall made the OT for an otherwise very generic game

generic... like all the other 3rd person games with booster jets, realtime enemy hacking, and platforming.
I heard those games are everywhere these days!

so generic.

Alternate version without lyrics:

I'm hoping the game matches what the music is going for.

I wouldn't say Capcom is necessarily known for emotional journeys, as instead they usually put the player through an emotional journey of gameplay beats instead of story beats.

Some of my favorite tracks of theirs make me go back to a memory that involves gameplay, like this one:

Or this one:

Or this one:

There are so many moments in their games where that cool Capcom music meets that classic Capcom action (or relief from intense action) which just makes one feel awesome, but this game is being advertised on a more emotional level with a cool puzzle concept to boot.

I liked the demo so put it into the Steam wishlist.
Capcom is rising in my list of game developers; they are everywhere including my Quest 3 and iPhone.
I'm developing a taste for those Resident Evil games after avoiding them forever, I've 'discovered' them.

Just tried the demo. Cool aesthetic and pretty fun mechanics, but I could see it getting old pretty quickly if there isn't a lot of variation.

Still, feels like an oldschool Capcom or Platinum game. Will probably grab it on a sale if the word of mouth is decent.

Same.
But when you finish the demo and return to the title screen it does give you a few unlocks. (I won't say what due to mild spoilers etc.)

I'll probably pick this on launch day if reviews are high, if not I can wait for a sale.

Demo impressed me more than I thought it would, but not sure if I'll pick up at launch.

Depends on if they flesh out the system enough to be interesting for the full game, but it didn't feel that gimmicky or bad at all to control.

The price-point being $60 instead of $70+ appeals to me too.

Got around to trying the Steam demo and it's great. The shooting reminds me of RE4 Remake and Binary Domain, and the hacking is a neat twist. There's even some light platforming to find items. Graphics and audio are great too. Looking forward to trying the demo on Switch 2; if it runs well enough I'll probably play it there.
