pramath speculation: Metroid Prime 4 HD should be done

i love metroid, but i can live without it for a few more years. i want to see what other things nintendo can do on an HD console.

I'd kinda like it if Prime 4 pulled a Darksiders II, set the game at the same time as one of the others and introduce some kinda clone alternate realm or something.

(I can dream).

Nintendo needs to give it a break with Metroid games.

Reboot of the whole series. Metroid Begins by EAD Tokyo with special guest appearance by Liam Neeson as Samus's sensei Ra's Al Chozo, who presents himself as Ducard.

No, I rather not have Retro make MP4.

Think of the developers... they have spent about 8+ of their lives on Metroid. Don't you think they are jaded by it and rather work on something different?

I would like to see Retro make a Zelda game or Star Fox. And the team that makes Zelda to create a new franchise full of the classic Nintendo charm.

Retro needs to make their own game/series. I want to see if they can pull their weight without having a platform to stand on.

. With the Gamecube games, Retro Studios crafted a cohesive, beautiful and atmospheric looking game world that even today does not look outdated, a decade after the original game's release. This can be attributed mostly to Retro's expert art style and their complete mastery of whatever hardware they work on.

i just wanted to add, this all could easily read as hyperbole, but i'm playing Prime 1 right now and it really is impressive how well it holds up.
i mean, you think about the situation back in '02: a beloved, classic japanese franchise is outsourced to a lesser-known western studio, whose vision is to make it as an FPS. it's a clear-cut horror story in almost any other example, yet we got a classic.

really hope this is what retro's doing with those uncharted guys, if not an new IP.

I want a Retro FPS where you play as a Galactic Federation Trooper. It can still have adventure elements, but more subdued compared to the Prime series. Dat art style in HD.

can we just clone Retro Studios and have them design every game?

No, but it doesn't need to be either. No small part of Retro's success has been the combination of Nintendo oversight and generous budgets, and if they can find some additional talented western staff, there's no reason they can't open other, similar studios, or even just add an extra team or two to Retro.

Retro is working on Star Fox.

That's the thing, there's too many franchises they need to work on (F-Zero, Star Fox, Metroid, DKC, possibly more) and obviously that can't all happen at the same time.

so now we play the waiting game

Making a 4th prime is as pointless as making a new halo trillogy.

It doesn't fit in the picture- its time they move on to bigger things.

Were is my Metroid Dread for one.

Would anyone be up for a "Metroid" game where you played as a Chozo in the past...or something? Maybe learned more about(and added to) the mysteries surrounding Samus, her suit. etc?

I wouldn't want that. My I like the Chozo and their mythology to be the backdrop but not the main story element. Prime 1 did it right with how you were exploring their planet and collecting artifacts left behind but never saw any of them. It made for great atmosphere.

I hope Retro won't get roped into making Metroid Prime 4. That series is finished. Having said that, a new game with that kind of gameplay could be quite good, though. I just hope it's not Metroid, and certainly not Metroid PRIME.

(Even though I think the series is great)

The next Metroid title should be a follow-up to other M, where they actully show the potential hidden in the title. I think a quality jump like from Assassins Creed 1 to 2 would absolutely be possible.

Bring back the JUSTINBAILEY code. I wanna see Samus in a bikini.

I honestly liked Other M, just needed more emotion-ful voicing. I would definitely like a follow up. For sure.

Just something I wanted to say;

Didn't at one stage Nintendo wanted to spin off the hunters in Metroid Hunters to their own games?

I'm a little cautious of the idea myself, but I'm trying to think of how Retro could do another metroid title without it being such a burden to them. Having you actually control and learn about the Choze could be a risky venture for us purist of the series, and it's one I'm too afraid to see happen for the slight chance that it pays off. Maybe the whole thing could be abstract, and most of what you figure out is merely implied, not actually stated as hard fact. What about having a sort of Lore around the area that is more about hieroglyphs and sketchy cave-style art work that was left for the Chozo, the same way Samus has things left for her.

I could see it being artistically pleasing, if it were to make to look very close to some of the stylized art when you actually played it...

Other M actually would have been the perfect title to bring JUSTINBAILEY back, now that you mention it. Third person, decent graphics and animation, right studio...

The world needs more Metroid in any form. Be it Prime or an actual continuation of the story after Fusion.

That said, I'd like to see something different from them that isn't a waste of their talent like Donkey Kong. Even though that game supposedly turned out well I've never enjoyed the series and I think Retro is at their best when creating much larger, cohesive worlds.

They should definitely cash in on the whole online-multiplayer shooter craze that's going on.
I'm hoping at E3 they announce a solid normal controller for the WiiU.

Although I really don't want future Metroid's to do this:

THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY THE BABY
