Pre-bomba: Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite PS4 currently ~25% off on PS4 (Amazon)

The pro scene follows what's popular which are still Capcom games. It doesn't matter if other games have money to play for or are better in quality.

It's definitely the money. The number of SFV pros who hate the game say that much. But you can't win over 200k for winning a tournament in any other FGC title. And so...

The pro scene follow the money. If NRS or ArcSys or Namco would put as much money into the scene as Capcom does Im sure there would be an exodus

NRS do. They have put in $600K (which is the same amount Capcom has done with SFV) yet not as popular.

Let me know how much it's the money when only a few of these pros pick up injustice or tekken.

Some pros are around for the money. Others genuinely enjoy SFV.

You also can't listen to pros because they're biased. Injustice has $600K to play for, but not many have made the jump over to it.

I see no reason to get this day one, and I LOVE uMvC3. Roster is too small and mediocre, nothing makes me desperate to get it day one.

I'd rather get the PS4 release of MVC3.

Ms. Marvel day one tho

Pretty much. Wake me up when they got the full package a la "Ultimate" MvC:I

I feel pretty confident that if the hardcore MVC fans like myself stay away from this game they will fix it and this time next year we will get a solid game.

I feel pretty confident in saying that if people do actually stay away from it they will drop it after the first wave of dlc.

Yeah, the argument that Capcom will only bother to fix the game by not buying the game is bullshit. The only reason they'll work on the game is if 1) people buy it and 2) people buy the DLC. Harada, the fighting game figurehead from a company that isn't cool to loathe, said that DLC is the only way they could keep their team together for a year on Tekken 7.

What will happen if these games or their DLC isn't bought is they'll stop making them. Ask Dahbomb how well DmC did and how much he's enjoying DMC5 now.

Now, I'm not advocating buying a game you think is shitty because you hope they'll get it right eventually. I advocate only paying for things one thinks is a good value for the money, whether it be a game or DLC or whatever. All this "I want to send X company a message" comes off to me as incredibly lame. If people really wanted to make a change, and not just shitpost, they'd protest at Capcom HQ. Not buying a game and repeatedly elucidating why they aren't buying a game on a forum is next to signing an internet petition in its ability to affect change.

But let's not pretend Capcom needs a financial spanking before they learn their lesson. People didn't buy SFxT, which was a huge game with a lot of content and actual marketing with constant reveal trailers, and the fighting games we got after that were SFV and MvCI. Clearly they're not going to throw more money at the problem when the problem is they keep failing to hit their sales projections.

Wait a few weeks for the price to collapse.

Good idea for any game you don't want to play immediately. You can get Tekken for 50, Injustice for 40.

That's gaming for the current generation.

Doesn't really help digitally, though. Those prices drop slower.

I wonder if we'll see the collectors edition go on sale too considering few people would wanna spend 200 on this.

The SF5 collectors can be found for super cheap now, T7 one is already 50 bucks off.

I want the statues, but not shelling out 200 bucks, so I'm waiting on those sweet, sweet price drops.

Think more mass effect type drop.

some kind of kinda counter to Gamesrop's 60%-70% trade in credit? I can only imagine Gamestop pre-orders must be crazy, right now.

The game is being vilified by its niche community and the general audience. Things are not looking good for this game's sales.

If they make a F2P cellphone version, I imagine they'll at least be able to recoup the costs. Injustice and Cintest of Champions make bank on mobile

I can't see by the comments a technical reason why this game will be a bomba.
  • Underwhelming visuals
  • People aren't too fond of the story (based on the demo)
  • Marvel making their side a glorified MCU ad
  • The Capcom side not being that much better
  • Not many newcomers on Day 1

A big sale on a pre-order tells me they don't have confidence in their product. Imma pass.

This has nothing to do with Capcom's confidence in the game. this is amazon's doing for whatever reason and we've already seen examples of it with other games.

Some of y'all getting too worked up over this.

So it might even be a better fighting game than the previous installments, but if Chun-Li has a poor modeling, boom it's a bomba. I see it.

The gameplay looks solid, no disagreement there. Though there are legit qualms with the game so far, & they aren't just Chun-Li & Dante's faces.

The roster is not an issue easily sidestepped in a game that prides itself on it. I sure as shit ain't paying for the base game plus DLC just so I can play Black Panther and other popular characters just because Capcom forgot to include females and characters of color. And I'm sure plenty others feel the same way.

Add to that no X-Men, Doom etc.

It's an Amazon discount and it's the most stacked month this year. Destiny, 2K and Fifa all launch within 14 days of it. Gotta generate interest in a more niche niche title launching next to the biggest games of the year somehow.

40 dollar should be the original price for this game Imo. From what I seen so far it's not up to par with modern fighting games. The graphics look like a cell phone / early PS3 game. Like PS2 game remaster. And character roster is bland with reused asset from umvc3. No x men is a huge downer too.

No Doom is a bless. Think how broken he is in Umvc3.

Neverthless I'm confident on this game from a technical perspective. They sure have a lot to fix on graphics and all this shit.

About to call bestbuy and try to price match this. Trying to pay as little for this game as possible because I will have to buy DLC for Black Panther.
