Pre-E3 - Don't sleep on the current generation of hardware!

Next-gen CONSOLES are going to dominate E3, but there's a still a ton of amazing software coming out for current hardware. My list of games to buy is riddled with the stuff, and I feel as though I'm exercising a lot of restraint in my choices. I know my list isn't exactly exhaustive, so what upcoming current gen software are the rest of you looking forward to?

My list:

DS:
A Boy and His Blob
Final Fantasy III
New Super Mario Bros
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 2
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

GC:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

PS2:
Dawn of Mana
God Hand
God of War 2
Guitar Hero 2
Lumines Plus
Okami
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology
Ye Olde Side Scroller

PS2:
Tales of the Abyss
God of War 2
Okami

PSP:
err.. Brave Story

DS:
FFIII
Mario 3vs3 (though not listed in SE's lineup)
NSMB
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Hopefully, Tales of the Tempest

GC/Wii:
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Maybe.. Baten Katios 2

Not including DS or PSP because I consider them more a part of "next gen."

PS2:
Yakuza
Okami
Final Fantasy XII
God of War 2
Maybe Dawn of Mana/Tales of the Abyss/Valkyrie Profile Silmeria

Xbox:
Call of Cthulhu

GameCube:
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Odama

GC
- Zelda Twilight Princess

PS2
- Maybe Okami

DS
- New Super Mario Bros
- Big Brain Academy
- Final Fantasy III
- Castlevania PoR
- Pokémon Diamond/Pearl
- Zelda Phantom Hourglass
- Magical Vacation 2
- Pokémon Mysterious Dungeon
- Pokémon Ranger
- Maybe Tales of Tempest

PSP
- Maybe Loco Roco
- Maybe Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins

Boy and His Blob was cancelled forever ago. And isn't Phoenix Wright 2 cellphone only right now, or did that change?
From what I understand, it's confirmed for DS, unless something has changed since the writing of that article. I was under the impression that the mobile versions were translations of the 2nd and 3rd games in the series.

I'm still looking forward to a decent number of PS2 games, but this E3 is all about new hardware I'm afraid.

PS2:
Final Fantasy XII

GCN:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

GBA:
Fina Fantasy V Advance
Final Fantasy VI Advance

DS:
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
New Super Mario Bros.
Pokemon Ranger
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Big Brain Academy
Magnetica
+Whatever else Nintendo has this year
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Final Fantasy III
Children of Mana
Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
Meteos: Disney Edition
Tales of the Tempest

PS2:

.hack//G.U. Vol.1
Gran Turismo 4: Online
Phantasy Star Universe
Yakuza

GBA:

Earthbound 1/2
Earthbound 3

That's about all I can think of. Them games should keep me staying current-gen until the middle of 2k7 as I'd planned all along.

For handhelds, the DS Show of ForceTM will sweep E3 -- Ace Combat X can tag along, too. And the last active current gen system (not counting Zelda!) in the PS2 is looking good. But damnit, if the DS isn't looking grand.

Consoles
GC - Zelda....
PS2 - Okami and possibly Yakuza.

This gen is pretty much over for me as far as games are concerned, unless their is a major drought with the Wii and PS3 I don't expect to be buying much if anything.

Handhelds
GBA - It's over for me unless the FF games turn out to be something awesome.
PSP - Nothing on the radar currently, if it gets made, Megaman Powered Up 2 and 3,4,5,6,7,8.
DS - Many, many games, i don't really want to list them cause i always feel poor when i think about it.

My PC and the DS are gonna be where most of my time is spent until the rest of the next gen consoles hit towards the end of the year.

God Hand looks like a considerably less macho take on Fist of the North Star. I expect nothing less of Capcom who has fallen quite far from the Mike Haggar glory days of burly men. Now it's all fey Gackt boys in their long coats and feathered hair - boo hoo, I'm Dante. I'm going to go update my myspace page - boo hoo. :P

i'm not sleeping.

okami and yakuza alone look more interesting than almost any next gen title.

qft. I was thinking the same thing, heh. September should be a nice month- and not because of any rumored next gen releases.

Come on, the thing's been out for 1 1/2 years. Let's not turn this thread into a semantic shitstorm.

It's nothing to do with the release date. If the PS2 is current. gen then the handheld that launched nearest to it GBA is current gen. So the DS, despite its early release date, is next gen.

Besides, every Gamecube game plays on the Wii, including Zelda (with unique controls I might add), every PS2 game plays on the PS3 (with enhanced visuals), etc.

To be honest, I'm far more interested in what's coming out for current (last?) generation this year more than PS3/360/Wiiiiiiiii

Samurai Warriors 2
Valkyrie Profile 2
Zelda: TP
Devil Summoner
Disgaea 2
Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins
Capcom Classics Reloaded
Final Fantasy XII & Va & VIa
Gradius Collection
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology
Powerstone Collection

That's not even taking into account what will be revealed at E3.

Persona 3 has been confirmed for a US release. :) RPG of this gen.

Or, to put it another way, this gen started with the release of the Xbox 360. So the current handhelds at the time became the current-gen systems.

So, current-gen: DS, PSP. Xbox 360, PS3, Wii (ugh)

Last-gen: everything else

They are, you meant.

On the topic in question, current generation it's completely dominated by Okami, Guitar Hero 2, Twilight Princess and FFXII but hopefully Persona 3 will get released in NA soon.

PD: LOL at the "PSP HAS NO GAMES!" answers.

This e3 is going to rock. So many games I want

Children of Mana
Dawn of Mana
Final Fantasy 3
Final Fantasy 5
Final Fantasy 6
Devil Summoner
Persona 3
Disgaea 2
Gradius Collection
Phantom Hourglass
Twilight Princess
Tales of the Abyss
Rogue Galaxy

Probably alot more, too. Much better than e3 "to hell with games, lets just show our new systems that wont be out for 6 months to 2 years" 2005.
