Predicted Release Schedule for Remaining PS4 Exclusives

I don't think Dreams will ever come to fruition. I love Media Molecule and how creative they are, but I think they jumped the shark with what they are doing.

I think it might hve been a novelty whenever motion controls were still somewhat new, but they are basically dead other than VR.

They have shown huge amounts of the creation system on streams. I would bet money it comes out this year or quarter 1 next year.

I could see GT and DG being swapped but I wouldn't agree that Sony has been giving their exclusive the best chance for success lately. TLG came out in early December exactly one week after FFXV, Gravity Rush 2 got drowned in a week of Japanese games, and Horizon's now got Zelda on its ass (though that one is on Nintendo).

PS4 has an install base of almost 60 million. There is absolutely zero reason to run away from a Zelda release on 13 million Wii U and brand new Switch. If Horizon isn't a success it won't be because of competition from that one game. I also disagree that The Last Guardian and Gravity Rush 2 were given bad release dates. The latter was actually moved to a later date strictly as a strategic move. It was doomed no matter what.

Game/Art/Animation? creation tool in a game form.
Unless they build a fun cohesive game with that tool, I think it will bomb.

There are building a game with it.

What is dreams anyway? Serious question. I can't wrap my head around it.

It's a 3D Little Big Planet on steroids. I think that is simple and accurate way to look at it.

Why does everyone seem to think that spiderman is a late 2018 ( or even 2019) title ?
AFAIK Insomniac isn't used to take forever to release their games...

Because we've seen nothing apart from that trailer.

Death Stranding and The Last Of Us Part 2 are both 2019 at the earliest, they're never coming out next year.

I definitely don't see it releasing before mid 2018 and that is at the absolute earliest. This is their biggest project ever and probably their most ambitious. We didn't even get a gameplay demo at E3 and nothing since then.

I don't see PS5 before 2020/2021....because PS4 PRO + patched up games are strarting to look great/good now.

For Detroit this year? I really doubt it.

I thought I read on GAF that GOW was played through by developer...

Surely GOW will be this year ?

The skeleton may be 'playable' from start to finish, but I'm sure they want to add much more to it, polish it, optimize it, and ensure nothing is critically broken.

There are building a game with it.

That game need to be good in it's own way, like good even you get rid of the build part good.
What I worry is since the tools more versatile, they try to make all kind of different bite size "experiences" with no focus. It need to be THE game, not long tutorial for the tool.
I hope Dreams don't end up like Project Spark.

What?? Not a chance. There is no way the PS5 launches in "2021 or later". I'm thinking Fall 2019. Absolutely latest would be Fall 2020 but that's really pushing it. I have absolutely no idea what you are basing your predictions on. It's no secret that the PS4 Pro is a midgen upgrade. It came 3 years into the PS4 lifecycle. And approx. 3 years after that (Fall 2019), PS5 will come out.
The E3 unveil is usually the year before the launch and the rumours appear 6-12 months before that. That would mean that the PS5 rumours would start appearing this year and the PS5 E3 unveil will be next year and the PS5 launch will be in 2019. Not gonna happen. That would completely undermine PS4 Pro as a seriously platform, which has just launched, and people who hasn't already bought it would sit tightly on the fence until PS5. Xbox Scorpio comes out this year too and Xbox Two would likely be several years away and Sony would be in the unfortunate first-out-weakest-hardware situation next gen.

I don't see Sony riding with the PS4 for another 4 years. Regardless of what the Pro can do the PS4 is baseline.2019 sounds about. 6 years for the base unit with the Pro upgrade right in the middle.

Well it's not like they have never done it before with LBP despite the complaints about floaty controls. It's supposed to be a campaign so I assume it will be full blown story mode and just chopped up experiences.

Detroit: Become Human - September 2017
Knack 2 - June 2017
GT Sport - July 2017

Dreams - No clue, there has been radio silence for awhile now. Could be as early as July or late as July 2018
God of War - December 2017
Days Gone - October 2017
Spider-Man - May 2018 - in line with infinity war

The Last of Us Part II - November 2018
Death Stranding - September 2019

There's way too much shit coming out this year, Sony won't release anything first party during their holidays besides GT Sport but hope it's ready by summer. They have marketing deals for stuff like Star Wars, RDR2, COD and Destiny 2 so of all the years, this is one where most games will get drowned in those 3rd party titles. March next year would be my bet but fuck know in all honesty, every studio Sony owns has been awful this generation at releasing games besides GG.

Spring 2017
GT Sport - April 2017
Crash Trilogy - May2017
Uncharted Lost Legacy - June 2017

Summer 2017
Wipeout Trilogy - July 2017
Yakuza Kiwami - August 2017

Fall 2017
Detroit - November 2017
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 1 - November 2017 (realistically it's going to slip to spring of next year though)
Dreams - December 2017

Early 2018
Yakuza 6 - January 2018
Knack 2 - February 2018
God of War - March 2018

Spring 2018
Days Gone - April 2018
Spiderman - June 2018

2019
The Last of Us Part II - May 2019
Death Stranding - September 2019

Other purely speculated titles
Sucker Punch New IP - October 2018
Bloodborne Sequel/New From Software Exclusive - March 2019
Horizon 2 - Fall 2019 (cross-gen title)
Nioh 2 - Fall 2019 (PS5 exclusive)
PS5 - Fall 2019

This kind of lineup would be dope, enough titles to have substantial years both in 2017 and 2018, then a few swan songs of the gen in '19 only to lead up to the release of the next console.

Got to admit, any pub whose release clashes with RDR2 or Destiny 2 needs to have a hard think.

PS4, XBO, X360 and switch announced less than a year before release. I can't see this trend changing for ps5.

XB1 launched almost 1.5 years after the E3 reveal where I'm at. Still, even if you're right about the rest we knew the consoles was coming long before the E3 reveal and the rumours and hype started making it seem dumb to buy the former consoles. I can't see how Sony would benefit from that so shortly after launching the Pro, they rule this generation too so the best scenario would be to just keep going with the current boxes for as long as they possibly can. 2019 is way way waaay too early. What would they gain by launching that early? What's the hurry?

My guesses:

August 2017 - Everybody’s Golf 7
September 2017 - Farpoint
September 2017 - Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
October 2017 - Knack 2
November 2017 - Gran Turismo Sport

2018 - Unannounced FromSoftware exclusive (speculation on my part, not confirmed to exist)
February 2018 - Detroit: Become Human
March 2018 - God of War
May 2018 - Days Gone
September 2018 - Dreams
October 2018 - Spider-Man

Q1/Q2 2019 - Sucker Punch's new IP
April 2019 - The Last of Us Part II
May 2019 - Death Stranding

I feel like this is a more complete list. Nice guesses.

I think God Of War gets the coveted Fall 2017 slot, delayed into early 2018

The real question is, does Days Gone come out before or after?

Also curious to see if Spiderman is planned as late 2017 to coincide with the movie, I'd assume not since we've only seen brief early footage but who knows

Knack 2 - Summer 2017
God of War - September 2017
GT Sport - November 2017
Wild - Winter 2017
Sucker Punch New IP - Winter 2017

Detroit: Become Human - March 2018
Spider-Man - April 2018
Days Gone - Summer 2018
Death Stranding - September 2018

The Last of Us Part II - May 2019

Dreams - Canned

GTS: June 2017

Wipeout Omega: July/August 2017

Uncharted Lost Legacy: October/November 2017

Parappa HD: December 2017 (During PSX I'd wager)

Detroit: January/Feb 2018

God of War: March 2018

Days Gone: June 2018

Knack 2: September 2018

Spider-Man: October/November 2018

Last of Us 2: June 2019

Dreams: Couldn't even guess tbh.

Also expecting a Bloodborne sequel for 2018. Call it a hunch.

Those dates sound plausible to me. I'm not really the type to predict things like this, nor am I good at it, so I'll have to take a pass on majority of that. I'd like to think that Death Stranding would release before 2019, though, like Kojima said. December 2018, perhaps. Spider-Man a few months before, and God of War mid-2018?

True, though, this generation felt a lot shorter for some reason. Assuming it really ends by 2019.

What's the thinking behind Spider-Man in 2018 or later? Isn't the new movie out this year, and Insomniac tends to like to have at least 1 major release annually? What else do they have the slate for 2017 if it's not Spider-Man?

Almost over??

This generation has many years left since we have the upgrades, the big 1st party exclusives has just started getting released and we'll have a second wave of those too.

Before this gen ends we'll see Horizon 2, GT7, New Uncharted serie, Bloodborne 2, new InFamous, FF7 Remake, Shen Mue 3, etc.

PS5 will be announced in 2020 and launched in 2021, or later.

Sincerely doubt that. PS4 Pro has helped to keep the PS4 base growing, but it'll taper off and be replaced by year 6. I think 2019 at the latest for first model of PS5, whatever that device ends up being.

June 2017 - New Hot Shots Golf
Sep 2017 - Uncharted The Lost Legacy
Oct 2017 - Gran Turismo Sport
Dec 2017 - Knack 2
Feb 2018 - Detroit Become Human
March 2018 - God of War
April 2018 - Bloodborne 2/new From exclusive
May 2018 - Days Gone
June 2018 - Dreams
August 2018 - Wild
Oct 2018 - Spider-Man
Feb 2019 - Sucker Punch new IP
April 2019 - new Ratchet and Clank
May 2019 - The Last of Us Part II
Oct 2019 - Death Stranding

If PS5 is 2020 then Horizon 2 will come out that year on PS4

If it were coming out this year we would have seen more than a 90 second teaser by now

Don't think Death Stranding is exclusive i think that will also be on PC

And also as said, Nier Automata is not exclusive. Also available on PC

If Spider-Man gets a Fall 2017 date flashed up on the screen at E3, I'll lose my shit. Believe.

Probably due to Avengers: Infinity War coming out in 2018.
