Predicted Release Schedule for Remaining PS4 Exclusives

You're reeeeeeally selling Sony short. I imagine E3 2017 and 2018 will be filled to the brim with current gen games, just as the past few have been.

I also don't think we're getting PS5 in 2019. We're on the verge of a GPU boom, and an extra year could mean 4 to 12 more tflops. If PS5 releases in 2019, there will be a Pro version 3 years later for sure.

are we 100% sure that Nioh is a PS4 exclusive? ... I was wondering why the cover doesn't have the usual "only on PS4" logo...

Horizon Zero Dawn - February 28, 2017
Nier: Automata - March 7, 2017
Gravity Rush DLC- March 2017
Persona 5 - April 4, 2017

Detroit: Become Human - August 29th 2017(Think this will be a late summer title, and they can use a final E3 push for good measures)

Uncharted 4 DLC - September 12th 2017

Ni No Kuni 2 - October 17th 2017(I thought this would be 2018 but they are still adamant on this being a 2017 game, think mid October might slide right in here as the RPG of the month)

GT Sport - November 21 2017(Think they would do well to get it in before the Forza fixture this year but don't know if that happens)

Knack 2 - December 12th 2017(Needs to be right before Christmas maybe as a game pushed to parents to get a kid. A key push from Sony Experience 2017 is key.)

Danganronpa 3 - January 9th 2018(I know they keep saying 2017 but for the English release, I think there will be a year apart from one another and I think holding this game as the 1st major release of 2018 would bold well)

God of War - February 2018
Dreams - May 2018
Days Gone - June 2018
Spider-Man - September 2018

Death Stranding - March 2019
The Last of Us Part II - Early October 2019(Survival Horror in time for the month)

From the PS I Love You thread a couple months back I put:

Gran Turismo Sport - July '17 (Fall would not surprise me)
Dreams - Summer '17 (a slow roll out that gets constant free updates)
Detroit: Become Human - Fall '17 (I honestly thought September to avoid the big guns)
God of War - March '18
Spider-Man - Summer '18
Days Gone - Fall '18 (again that September slot)
Sucker Punch New IP - Nov '18
The Last of US Part II - May '19
Death Stranding - Fall '19

Now if I were to fill that with the rest:

Persona 5 - Apr '17
Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy - June '17
Yakuza Kiwami - July '17
Dreams - Summer '17 (a slow roll out that gets constant free updates)
WipEout Omega Collection - Aug '17
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - Fall '17 (originally thought Spring but we've had nothing since PSX)
Detroit: Become Human - Fall '17 (leaning towards 2018 now, with something 2018 slipping to 2019)
Gran Turismo Sport - Oct '17
Knack 2 - Nov '17
Yakuza 6 - Jan '18
God of War - March '18
Bloodborne successor - Apr '18
Spider-Man - Summer '18
Days Gone - Sept '18
Sucker Punch New IP - Nov '18
The Last of Us Part II - May '19
Death Stranding - Fall '19

Talking about remaining exclusives seem kinda premature. We're a little over 3 years into PS4's life cycle, it'll probably have at least 3 more years to go before the PS5 comes out.

Winter 2018. Believe.

I don't see PS5 before 2020/2021....because PS4 PRO + patched up games are strarting to look great/good now.

That's why there is still 2 years and 9 months between now and November 2019 when PS5 will release. That's lots of time.

The E3 unveil is usually the year before the launch and the rumours appear 6-12 months before that. That would mean that the PS5 rumours would start appearing this year and the PS5 E3 unveil will be next year and the PS5 launch will be in 2019. Not gonna happen. That would completely undermine PS4 Pro as a seriously platform, which has just launched, and people who hasn't already bought it would sit tightly on the fence until PS5. Xbox Scorpio comes out this year too and Xbox Two would likely be several years away and Sony would be in the unfortunate first-out-weakest-hardware situation next gen.

I'm sorry, I'm sure you mean well but your logic is pretty terrible. The PS4 itself was announced less than 1 Year before release so that already throws your line of thinking out the window. Realistically, the PS5 could be announced around 2 years from now. Perfectly reasonable. Everyone has known from the start that the PS4 Pro is a midgen optional upgrade. It's really not surprising at all that the PS5 will come out 3 years after it. That makes the PS4 gen 6 years since the PS4 Pro is not a new gen. PS5 Pro will be out in Fall 2022.

Detroit: Become Human - September 2017
Knack 2 - June 2017
GT Sport - July 2017

Dreams - No clue, there has been radio silence for awhile now. Could be as early as July or late as July 2018
God of War - December 2017
Days Gone - October 2017
Spider-Man - May 2018 - in line with infinity war

The Last of Us Part II - November 2018
Death Stranding - September 2019

You think Detroit, Knack 2, GT Sport, Dreams, God of War, and Days Gone are all this year?? Haha no chance of that.

XB1 launched almost 1.5 years after the E3 reveal where I'm at. Still, even if you're right about the rest we knew the consoles was coming long before the E3 reveal and the rumours and hype started making it seem dumb to buy the former consoles. I can't see how Sony would benefit from that so shortly after launching the Pro, they rule this generation too so the best scenario would be to just keep going with the current boxes for as long as they possibly can. 2019 is way way waaay too early. What would they gain by launching that early? What's the hurry?

2019 is not way too early. It's 3 years after PS4 Pro which is a midgen upgrade...clear from the start. 6 years after the launch of PS4. Sorry to tell you, but I guess you're in for a surprise if you think it's coming in 2021. No chance.

Don't think Death Stranding is exclusive i think that will also be on PC

And also as said, Nier Automata is not exclusive. Also available on PC

OP clearly states "console exclusive".

You're missing Uncharted: The Lost Legacy my dude.

True. I looked at that game more like an add-on to Uncharted 4, but it's a big release nonetheless.

You're reeeeeeally selling Sony short. I imagine E3 2017 and 2018 will be filled to the brim with current gen games, just as the past few have been.

I'm sure we'll get a couple more big games, but I don't know what they are if not announced yet. What ones are you thinking for release before Fall 2019 besides Sucker Punch?

What do you mean, remaining exclusives? The gen isn't over yet.

I don't understand the question. I'm saying I think this gen will end in late 2019. So I'm predicting when the announced games will come. And people are free to speculate on unannounced ones too.

I could see GT and DG being swapped but I wouldn't agree that Sony has been giving their exclusive the best chance for success lately. TLG came out in early December exactly one week after FFXV, Gravity Rush 2 got drowned in a week of Japanese games, and Horizon's now got Zelda on its ass (though that one is on Nintendo).
TLG and GR2 are not going to be big sellers regardless of what month they release in. They both got decent marketing, especially TLG

I'm gonna go against the grain, and history of God of War release dates, and say it's gonna be the big fall release this year. It had already been in development for three years when it was revealed.

What Remains of Edith Finch - Aug 2017
Gran Turismo - Sept 2017
Knack 2 - Oct 2017
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - Nov 2017

The Last of Us 2 - Nov 2019

New Ratchet & Clank - Apr 2019
Sly 5 - Jun 2019
The Last Guardian 2 - Nov 2027

April 2019 - new Ratchet and Clank

Didn't want to read the thread first to skew my predictions. High Five!

Any one who guessed a big AAA game from Sony will launch oct/nov/dec must not be paying attention to this gen. Expect them all to be feb- sep when there Is less competition.

Yeah, this is how I feel too. Why would they mess with what has worked wonderfully this generation? Let third parties handle the Fall. Sony's games have performed very well January through September. The PS4 has sold gang busters in the Christmas season without First Party games in that time frame.

Though I could see GT Sport releasing in one of those months. And possibly Knack 2.

The games I predicted for fall seasons, all have good reasons why Sony would release them then.

Knack 2 because it’s a family game and thus does not compete with the many major third party shooters Sony is partnering with this fall (that Sony doesn't want to get in the way of). And the first game found success in the holiday period. Sony also has explicitly said it is coming this year, and they have become extremely cautious of giving release windows for their games since E3 2016 meaning they have great confidence it will hit this year. And with the amount of promotion it's had at this point (1 trailer) it's not coming out before September.

Spider-Man because it’s one of the largest IPs of all time and thus has huge sales potential with a good quality well-marketed game. Because of that it will be able to compete with the major third party games but even then, theoretically fall 2018 (when I predict it will be released) should be a lot quieter for big third party games compared to this year since it will have no new Battlefront, Destiny main game or Red Dead Redemption 2.

GT is also definitely a big enough brand to launch in that period and Sony obviously thinks that considering it was originally slated for a mid-November launch.

Do you work for Sony? Putting new out hardware out just because a certain amount of time has passed is stupid. The ps5 should be released when the tech makes sense.

cant believe this gen is almost over, the last gens felt way longer.

what? We're only 4 years in, Uncharted 3 and Gears 3 came out 5-6 years after their consoles release dates. I really feel like we're only just now finally getting worthwhile games. They just released the Pro as well.

just realised the only remaining PS4 exclusive I care about is TLOU2. might pick up Horizon Zero Dawn if it's any good.

As for TLOU2 i think it's definitely a 2019 game. Most likely the first half of the year. Kinda like the first game which came out in June before the PS4 launched. Makes me wonder if we'll see a remastered PS5 version.

Gran Turismo - July 2017

God of War will be released this year. They said you can already play it from finish to start.

It'll be PS4 holiday game this year. October/November I think.

That schedule in the OP. I hope it isn't accurate.
Those games are far and few in between to much. I feel sick.
The only game releasing for me this whole year is Horizon.

This gen is almost over. And I've only had a few interesting games released in the past 4 years.

Fuck me.

Any one who guessed a big AAA game from Sony will launch oct/nov/dec must not be paying attention to this gen. Expect them all to be feb- sep when there Is less competition.

Especially when Sony is going to have marketing rights to Destiny 2, COD, Red Dead Redemption 2(if it releases this year) and most likely Star Wars Battlefront 2 this Fall. I don't expect any Sony published retail exclusives after September except maybe Gran Turismo.
