As a huge fan of GKMC that's how I felt at first. I've listened to TPAB countless times... safe to say it has far surpassed good kid for me now, even though I still love the shit out of that album.

TPAB is just a different beast of an album. It's divisive, but some of the best works of art are.

Drake hate is lame because even though he will never be as technically skilled as Kendrick or able to come up with his type of concepts, Drake has some amazing verses and songs. He's also held his own or surpassed Kanye, Wayne, Kendrick, Jay, Bun B, Jadakiss, etc, etc on songs.

I'm the other way around, but I do see a lot of people being let down by TPAB that were fans of Kendrick's debut.

I didn't see a single special thing on Maad City and thought it was overrated. Maybe a joint here or two that I liked.

But TPAB made me actually like Kendrick. Would rate that album as one of the best albums we have gotten in 5 years.
