NeoGAF is *not* representative of any national demographic. And in this case relative price isn't as important as ACTUAL price. History has shown that large swathes of people only consider buying consoles when they get below certain price barriers. Whoever gets there first usually captures a large chunk of them.gtj1092 said:

Look, you're argument is fucking stupid. What matters in Europe is the best price to play the games that are the most popular there. Metal gear is only popular among those that were in to previous versions ( sorry, that's not a big audience). It's not a sports title that appeals to the entire sports market in Europe. The GTA games were more popular then GT and Metal Gear combined. A game people can buy for the 360 at a much lower price then the PS3.

What do you think that link shows? Because I can't seem to find any logic to the order those games are listed at within. It's not alphabetical by any of the header fields, nor does it appear to be by sales - it has Halo 3 listed below Halo 2. Does anyone know what order they're placed in?picsou said:

The 360 Elite is more expensive then the 40g Ps3, while the Premium is only $50 cheaper, that's hardly enough to make to huge of a difference in price, however getting a console for GTA IV why wouldn't someone go with the console that is HALF the price.
The last MGS did like 3.5 million, that's half what the first 2 did.... and for what was supposed to be a huge blockbuster game that isn't that great.... it's just not on the same lvl as a GTA, Halo, GT, Gears, Smash bros, or CoD.
It's alot more accurate to look @ the sales of the more recent games though then their "Best seller" because the audience changes/competition comes out... and in that regard he is right. GT4 did ~9.5 million, the last MGS did something like ~3.5 million, Together those are only 13 million while San Andreas did 20 million. GT3 was also bundled.

The Matrix video game was universally panned as crap and still sold over 4 million units world wide. Even games that are technically crap can sell a few million units. That's not to say Metal Gear is crap, but it's certainly not as popular as it once was. Metal Gear was once incredibly popular, but each version has sold fewer units. Metal gear selling 2 million units is nothing to GTA selling 8 - 12 million units Call of Duty selling like crazy and Halo rounding things out with well over 6 million units. That's a point that can't be argued with.
I don't believe you are correct on those numbers for GT.
