I looked at it and I'm like--for some reason I see Dante jumping off that tower. Oh yeeeeeaaah. It's the Ten-Mi-Gru. Hopefully that's a sign POP3 will make a comeback like DMC3 did. I really couldn's stand playing POP2. Too much action, too "X-treme!11!1"

Damnit, thats exactly what I thought the second I saw it!!

Quick, someone post a pic of the Ten-mi-gru

Am I the only one cautiously optimistic about Kindred Blades? The trailers and Ubisoft's P.R. copy make it come off like an apology for Warrior Within.

Despite my dismissal of WW, I am cautiously optimistic about KB. They've already shown that they can make a great game with SoT.

The reason why I loved SoT so much was how much Persian culture was embedded in it. There are quite a few remarks made by the prince regrading Persian mythology and these bits of dialogue really made the game for me. Also, the Persian architecture that was used in the game. I have been to such places in my various trips to Iran and visited older cities that still retain some of the old architecture and I was amazed to see it used so well in SoT. Also, the brilliant platforming and the puzzles made the game excellent as well.

Warrior Within still had the brilliant platforming but the puzzles were non-existant and the combat, even though improved, still relied far too heavily on button mashing. I didn't really care for the metal or the gothic influence that the game had, but some of the music in the game is very well done, and if you can look past the gothic influence, it is a fun game. Still has its problems, but that's more with the content and style of the game.

I'll check into PoP 3 when it drops in price. Hopefully the stealth bits aren't overused in the game.

The game was more Arabian then it was Persian, all the writings in the game were in Arabic. The clothing style of the Prince was Arabian rather than Persian, and those types of architecture can be seen in Iraq aswell. The game seems to have taken an influence from Aladdin rather than actual Persian culture.

If you hated WW in so much, why bother shitting on this thread with an elitest counter-culture attitude?

We get it that you guys do not like Godsmack. Get over it.

Because I haven't yet gotten to 100 posts to get "Junior" off my name.

Despite the fact that you shit on me as much as I shit on WW, I must commend you on your goitered mother theresa.

That is the perfect description for the original prince of persia games. I think most people who have a problem with it is that SoT was a perfect revival of the series in terms of both gameplay and look and feel, whereas WW was a slap in the face to the fans. Seeing as how they just want to continue the trend, I see no need to reward UBI for more pop-angst cultural garbage.

That's just it, though: the "revival" was anything but. It was the same game, only draped in 128bit garb. Yeah, the graphics were very nice, atmospherically surreal and enchanting, but that's all that I found appealing about the game. The combat was easy and uninvolving, capable of skating through blindfolded once you mastered (in a couple tries) the wall move. The platforming felt almost automated, leaving me feeling disconnected from an integral component of the gameplay that demanded intuitiveness. There was just too much wrong with this "revival" to merit spending any time on its sequel.
