Good to hear :) As a way of comparison, did you play the Winning Eleven 2010 demo (which was an improvement over te PES 2010 demo)? If so, how does the retail PES 2010 compare to it?

Yes, I also played the Winning Elevel 2010 demo, which I also found to have a better reponse time than the PES 2010 demo. However, the final/retail PES 2010 game has an even better response time.

I run the game on Xbox 360 and a Sony W4500 HDTV and it runs great. Just make sure to turn off image processing features on your tv, which can cause huge input lag. I'm very, VERY happy with how PES 2010 runs. Loading times are also much shorter (which was very annoying in PES 2009 IMO), so kudos to Konami and Seabass.

I have the Xbox 360 version of the game and have only English commentary.
 
PC version or bust for me. Though I am going to have to monitor the progress of these custom PS3 files. The 3rd party software that people used for the PS2 games allowed some pretty good customization.

Just read it. This quote has me so excited to get my hands on the game:

I love all the little things in the ML and these sound like I'll be spending even more time playing it :D
 
I was all set on switching to FIFA this year, but yesterday played a few matches of the WE2010 demo, and tbh, had more fun than the last month I've played the demo of FIFA10.
FIFA has smooth animations, but just feels soul-less and disconnected compared to PES. The way the ball moves around in PES feels so good. After a few games the animations on PES are actually not that bad either, and the visual presentation is just plain better in PES.

I think I'm back to PES, lol.

When that happens, PES 2010 for the PS3 will automatically become the best football game ever created by far (assuming they copy the IR controls the Wii version has exactly).

Wii-like controls with the PS3 wand + HD graphics = instant win.

Haha, I love the "Calcio" one. Remember that was Ronaldo's (the Brazilian) name in one of the early PS2 Pro Evos? :D

Another favourite is "The beutifl game" or something along those lines :p
 
Can I just ask what Seabass / Konami thinks they will achieve by releasing what appears to be an inferior demo to the actual boxed version?

I mean, I download the FIFA / Pro Evo demo's each year, and see which one takes my fancy...surely Konami have lost a good few sales because of this, if stories relating to greater response times are to be believed.

Cemperor, if you're still around, can you tell if the small stutter I'm noticing on the WE2010 demo whenever a ball goes in the net, is still there in the final version? It's slightly annoying.

It's all about Winning Eleven this year for me again, like many here i sued to spend insane amounts of hours playing this game almost daily with my friends 6+ years ago on PS2. I mean the amount of time we used to play was just crazy, like 3 or 4 hours every single day of the week, man those were the days.

I've been a FIFA player for the last couple of seasons but this year looks like THE year for me, hopefully the online is fixed this time.

I really liked the demo so if the full game has kicked on from that then magic! PSN: GAF username.
 
Not too sure whether I should keep FIFA 10 hanging around or not, just in case the patch fixes a few things in Manager Mode that turned me off completely from the game.

However deep down inside I know that I'll spend another 6-8 seasons playing Master League completely ignoring FIFA.

Just posting for a heads up... I dont follow the soccer games and havent bought a soccer game since Winning Eleven 6, which was really excellent imo.

I am not looking for online play, so keep that in mind. With that said, any impressions on local MP between PES and Fifa? I am only going to buy one, and want to know from people who have played both.

Graphics and team rosters arent really important (you can get team rosters for PES online right?), but I would want to buy the game with the better gameplay. The FIFA 360 degree control has me intrigued!

I look forward to your recommendation and will buy accordingly.
 
Got the review copy today. I'm in the quarter finals with Real Madrid in Champions League - just to get a feel for the game. I think it's much improved upon the demo of PES2010 and WE2010 and I'm surprised as to how much of an effect your tactics on the board can have, even the player cards. I turned on Ronaldo's skilled dribbling and just after I dribbled my way through 4 defenders and send the ball into the goal. Kaká can carry the team as well, with Sergio Ramos overlapping on the side and Raúl attracting the defenders.
 
can some1 with the PS3 .uk version of the game confirm the languages available please?

i know that there will be the portuguese audio (commentaries) + text, because I saw it on the tv news, but I would prefer to purchase the game from the .uk since is half the price of the game comparing to portugal :P

Arsenal knocked me out of the Champions League in the semi final.

I'm playing Master League now. I bought Christian Poulsen from Juventus for 16 million euroes. Negotiations with Negredo (Sevilla), Filipe (Deportivo) and Bruno Alves (FC Porto) broke down. Didn't get to sell Metzelder or Gago either, so I got too many midfielders now lol.
 
Shit.. This is out tommorrow? damn that came quick. Looks like uc2 won't make it to uk no.1 all formats charts after all. I didn't order over the internet cause of the mail strike, so I'll be buying retail for the first time in ages and ages.... full price ftl=:(
 
Seriously this game is pretty good when you get used to how it plays. Having an anchor man picking up the ball from the defense, hold up the ball so the rest of the team can run up the field and have a defender build up play by running up the middle. It can be seen on the pitch when you change your tactics and cards.
 
Can anybody with the game check whether it has world online play - meaning, if my friend in Japan buys a copy of the game, will I be able to play him from Canada with my North America copy? Thanks so much.
 
Most people on pesfan are praising the game, and saying the demo doesn't even compare, which is great cause I'm enjoying the demo a lot.

PES IS BACK indeed.

Can't believe a couple weeks ago I was all ready to jump ship to fifa this year just because of some silly smooth animations, wtf was I thinking... the proper deep gameplay is all in pes.

Nah, Fifa is fine.

I can't imagine how bad PES would have fallen if it wasn't for proper competition from the folks at EA Sports, so we PES fans have a lot to thank Fifa for.

I don't disagree, fifa10 is great, just saying that is has nothing on PES2010 when it comes to gameplay and fun, for me at least.

Please post some impressions after you play it jts, I need to wait two extra weeks for the american release.
 
Picked up the PS3 version today. Gonna play some friendlies and CL tonight. Hopefully the custom option file will be out soon so i can start a proper Master League.

Spent about 2 hours with the game since getting it earlier and it's much better thaneither the PES or WE demo. Very responsive, the 360 dribbling makes the game flow a lot better and feels more 'lifelike', player animations are greatly improved and they shape up for shots/passes etc a lot more realistically.

The card system and slider bars work well too. Definitely makes a difference.

Have played a few friendlies so far and am currently playing a Champions League with United :)

Haven't been in and out of the menus too much but can't seem to see an option to play a Europa League tournament. Anyone know how to do this?
