Problem with Internal PS2 Memory Card (PS3)

So this just happened recently but when I'm in a PS2 game (played on PS3) it doesn't recognize any memory card. When I'm in the XMB, however, I can see all my PS2 saves. Anyone have this happen to them? Should I back them all up to a USB stick, delete the memory card, make a new one, and restore?

Okay this is weird. It seems the problem is only with GTA games. (Vice City and San Andreas) Persona4 just worked fine.

hmm... save them to a flash drive, then delete the saves on your PS3. Put them back on... different virtual memory card maybe. if still an issue, do the same thing but throw a quick or full reformat in the middle. if still an issue, then I think you're SOL

I had this happen once when I first got my PS3. Somehow the virtual memory card got corrupted and I lost all PS2 saves. Once I fixed the problem, I made sure to start backing up all saves to a memory stick. I was pretty angry at the time because I lost an FFXII save with 50+ hours on it.

the exact same thing happened to me :lol

i had to get save get from a friend so i didnt have to start over. after that i started making multiple copies of ps2 saves just in case

Try making a new virtual memory card and copying your saves over to that one. I had a problem where some of the slots on my virtual memory cards were 'corrupted' and sometimes saves just wouldn't load.
