Procrastination-Age: Unfinished Gam... ahh F&*% it!

Folklore - I've played through the first three or four chapters, but the addition of a number of other games to my collection that I wanted to start on right away sidelined my progress. I watch In Bruges at the movies yesterday though, and it put me in a mood for this. The atmosphere is excellent.

Devil May Cry 4 - The level design hampers how much time I can spend with it. The combat is excellent though, and I play a mission when I can. Slow, slow progression.

Ratchet & Clank Future
- Had to restart my game, so its been difficult to keep myself motivated and get past the first third of the game that I've seen already.

I'm actively pecking away at Uncharted and Resistance.

I generally never finish my singleplayer games. Which of these should I beat first GAF? Suggestions would be REALLY appreciated.

Divine Divinity
Fallout
Fallout 2
Final Fantasy III (DS)
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasty VII: Crisis Core
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (DS or GC)

I'd say RE4, Prime 1 and 3. Prime 2 you might want to play first, but it's a generally more frustrating game. Also, one of the numbered FF's that isn't Revenant Wings.

No More Heroes : I'm number 2 right now. Still trying to get enough money to fight number 1.

COD4: I'm about 70% done with the campaign. It's been like that for months.

Bullet Witch[/B]: Still need to replay on All hell and Chaos mode

Mortal Kombat Armageddon: Almost done with single player, but can't force myself to finish it

Ninety Nine Nights: Ugh

Daxter : Ugh x2

I want to finish these games, but it feels like I know what's going to happen so I don't even bother.

I'll get around to them eventually. No more heroes for sure.

Seriously, finish that damn game, its such an awesome experience.

- Baten Kaitos Origins: started playing this a year ago, stopped after a couple of hours because I realized I wouldn't have time to finish it... and now the freeloader's blocked by Wii :(

Well, it's one of the GameCube games that works with the Wii Freeloader, so everything isn't lost.

If you have limited time and want to finish as many different game as you can, play it on lower difficulty settings. It won't be hard and you won't get stuck which will help to avoid frustration.

I prefer to play different games rather than playing same game more than once in all difficulties and trying to unlock everything.

Get over it. You can not beat as many games as someone who is still in the school can.

so picked back up Uncharted to get to the end,

remember why I put it down, respawning enemies again and again!

Need another break :lol bloody chapt 20 Church!
The enemies are coming from new places in waves; they're aren't respawning a la CoD4. The Church is a pain in the bass, but iirc it's the last pain in the ass.

PSP
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles - Maybe 1/3 of the way through the game.
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness - On the first chapter
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions - About 20 hours put in grinding, still in the first chapter
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops - Barely played.
Valkyrie Profile Lenneth - Half way through?

PS3
Folklore - About halfway through for both Ellen and Keats
Ratchet & Clank Future - Barely played

PS2
Devil May Cry 2 - Halfway throughy Dante's disc, stopped playing, never going to start again
Devil May Cry 3 - Just past Cerberus
Front Mission 4 - unplayed
Odin Sphere - Got to the fifth book, stopped playing
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - I've tried multiple times to get into this and I always stop around 1/4 of the way through
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - On my second attempt to playing through this. The first time I put in 60 hours and kind of got stuck. I took so long to get back to it I just started over, sitting at about 30 hours in, I think
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 - Halfway through? Now that I've got FES pre-ordered this is a priority
Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria - unplayed

PS1 - In my defence these are recent purchases
Persona 2 - unplayed
Vagrant Story - unplayed
Xenogears - unplayed

Wii
Dragon Quest Swords: Masked Queen and Tower of Mirrors - Got to the end, and the grinding required--and holy shit is it required--to get the right equipment and high enough levels so you can survive both phases of the last boss made me simply stop playing. This would have been an alright spin-off if they didn't toss in grinding to artificially drag out its length.
Zak & Wiki - Solved the first two puzzles, haven't touched it since.

DS
Front Mission - A couple of missions in on one campaign, just stopped playing
Ouendan 2 - unplayed

I'd agree with the other peoples- Resident Evil 4 (15 hours), Metroid Prime(20 hours), Final Fantasy Tactics(30 hours), then FF9(30 hours), then Pikmin(10 hours), then FF7(30 hours).

My own backlog might be huge, but I don't buy the direct sequels to games unless I could stomach the original enough to beat it. What's the point in completing a game if I get no satisfaction out of it?

Persona 3 - Just slow progress overall due to my play style with this game. I am about 35+ hours in and I just went on summer vacation (in-game), yay! I like it a lot so I will pick up the pace in a few months.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma - Beat the xbox versions so my progress is extra slow, I stopped at the fire dragon on hard about a month ago. I think I'll just let it rest as I won't be beating the game before NG2 which will get lots and lots of PT right away.

Bioshock, Resistance, Metroid Prime 3 - These games are barely fun for me, but I'll try my best to beat them anyway. To put things into perspective I got all of them on the same day (MP3 release) and I am about 5 hours in-in each of them.

Forza 2 - Still have to buy a new copy since my old one is scratched up. I still have to beat the SP mode.

Odin Sphere - I am at that fire mountain place and I think it is the last mission. I haven't played the game in 5 months, I'll end it soon, very soon.

RE4 - Near the end...got this game with Odin Sphere at its launch...don't like it much, but I'll finish.

Oblivion - Even with all these amazing mods I still don't feel like finishing it. Lost cause, hehe.

Final Fantasy XII
Doubt I'll ever get around to beating this game it just bores me to tears.

Radiatta Stories
Already beat the nonhuman side but can't seem to get around to beating the human side

Patapon
What a great game but it get kind of difficult in the later stages

Trauma Center
Love this game but I suck something fierce at it

Persona 3
It's getting sad how many RPGs I give up on halfway through

Devil May Cry 4
I'm just not feeling this game.....what a letdown.

Contra 4
Another great game that I need to get around to beating

Tales of Symphonia
Another RPG that I left half finished

Hot Shot Golf psp
To much stuff to unlock but at least I'm still playing this great game

FFV gba
I will beat this RPG by the end of the year

Phantom Hourglass
It's kind of boring

Final Fantasy XII
Got it in early February, put in 20+ hours on it and for the life of me, I can't completely get into it yet. I'm not sure if it's the story not pulling me in, the characters not being appealing enough or the way there are no defined classes and you can have 3 characters that are gods of war and forget about the rest. And yeah i know i could mold my characters into the usual classes, but meh. I like the old school stuff better: here's your black mage, your fighter, your thief.. etc.

Assasin's Creed
Bought into the hype, game blew ass for me. Way too repetitive. Fortunately i got it for only $40 at fry's.
Its nice as a tech demo though.

Motorstorm
So you tell me i can be first for the duration of the race, with a long lead, then crash at the last corner and have 5 cars pass me by? Yeah.. okay.

Rainbow Six Vegas: 2
Game just wasn't for me, thought i could get into a tactical shooter like this. I was wrong.
Maybe socom will finally pull me in.

Kingdom Hearts 2
Kinda halfway thru it, but i havent touched it in forever.

The main reason for me not finishing a game is the fact it fucking forces me to be at an FAQ whilst playing it incase I miss shit. I fucking HATE missing stuff in long games which can't be obtained later. I wish I could go back to a time when I didn't care, but, now I just have to have everything. Fucking stupid. I tried printing out a list of things that can be missed before, but, that's still tedious. I wish developers would stop this shit....

This only really applies to long games which will rape my freetime if I want to play again....

Oh also scanning shit like in Metroid Prime. I become a fucking scan whore and search every inch for some shit to scan until I hate the game and stop playing. If only I didn't fucking care. >.>

My list of games uncompleted is too long to post. Seriously.

This.
Seriously, missing out on an item in a rpg because you didnt talk to a certain guy on the third town and youre on the 2nd to last dungeon of the game after 50+ hours (im just making this scenario up, btw) is the most infuriating thing if youre somewhat of a completist or if you're just not a teenager anymore that can spend 8+ hrs a day gaming.
God i wish i was still 17. Only for gaming purposes though.

When I get stuck in a game, there is definitely a counter of my head of how long I'm willing to scan a room, or try items from my inventory, or try locked doors. When that counter hits 0, it's off to GameFAQs to get the guide, probably written by some unemployed 19 year old living off his parents. GameFAQs is the seedy back alley of gaming.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time I think on two, maybe three separate occasions (N64 cart, OoT/MQ Gamecube, Collector's Edition Gamecube) I've played up to the Water Temple dungeon. Usually it takes me a while to push through the Forest Temple (I just don't like it), but the Water Temple... to even try an idea takes a five to ten minute circuit around the level sometimes. The worst part is when you're not sure where you left off, how much you've already done, etc. I need to sit down with a YouTube and get through the bastard, the trouble is that last I looked, I couldn't find my OoT Gamecube save.

Wow...I thought I was the only on who hadnt finished this game. As much as I love it I always get up to somewhere around the Shadow or Spirit temple and get sidetracked with another game or something different entirely.

you recall incorrectly. Onto chapt 23 now, thinking how goof the story is and how ace it would be to post that I've ticked this game off the list.

But chirst this boat level is a lesson in patience, not enough ammo, cheap AI and same combat over and over! Grate game, great story but man!

Oh, if you're on the cargo boat thing,
you're at the last boss fight. The game changes the mechanics entirely. Now, it's all about picking off the underlings, which will drive the boss back another section of the boat. And when you're up on the heli platform, it's down to QTEs. Don't worry; all of us hated the last boss fight.

Once you get the hang of it, it ends pretty quickly.

All played, but not much:

Baldur's Gate 1: I'll be playing this in about 2 weeks, when I have 4 sweet weeks of nothing at all going on.

Dungeon Siege 2: was a gift from a friend. Played about 2 hours. Seems fun if fairly standard hack 'n slash rpg. Might play someday

Apollo Justice: great game, but other games have been getting in the way. I'm halfway through the third case and will definitely finish the game, just not anytime soon it seems.

Blue Dragon: bought it on GAF-hype alone. Played it for 7 hours, hated it and returned it. Then re-bought it cheaply because GAF says it gets better. Haven't played it since.

Neverwinter Nights 2: wanted to give it a shot, but can't get it to work properly. Stupid autopatch system works like shit. It took be about 4 hours to get up to date with manual patching. So I begin the game and after a few minutes my Nvidia driver craps out. It's a common problem apparantly, but it renders the game unplayable.

Contra 4: Played a few levels and loved it, but haven't played it since for inexplicable reasons.

Puzzle Quest: same reason as Contra 4

Dracula X Chronicles: I thought I would love it as I love oldskool games like this, but honestly Dracula X just seems archaic and wasn't much fun to me. Might play again as I love me some Castlevania.

I'm in chapter 2 of The Witcher and have been waiting for the big patch till I start going at it again.

I started a huge map with 10 AIs in it in Sins of a Solar Empire. I'm about 5 hours in and have taken out 2 of them. I own more than half of my home solar system and a few planets in a couple others. Its amazing that the game has enough depth that you can pretty much start a campaign with random enemies and such in a randomly generated map and still have it last longer than your standard action game and still have it play out in real time. Right now I'm kind of in a tedious stage though. I have to figure out how to not keep my forces spread out so thin and still be able to inch my way into foreign solar systems. I think I'm going to have to take out the other guy in my solar system so I can just put a bunch of forces around the star to keep all my planets in it safe to allow me to spread out into other galaxies more effectively. I guess its just such a huge undertaking that I'm procrastinating it.

I've finished all the other games I've gotten since last fall.

edit: Forgot about my PSP games. I got Daxter with my PSP, Puzzle Quest, FF:Tactics, and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror. All awesome games. Haven't finished any of 'em... not even close really.

legend of zelda phantom hourglass : cant be arsed
ffiii ds: got bored halfway through, dont know if i'll have the energy to finish
god of war 2: beat the collosus and for some reason so lazy to continue

Pretty great game up until that point.... then kind of anti-climactic

Great game, and the narrative is supurb, last few chapters lets it down

Personally found this to be one of, if not, THE prettiest section of the whole game.

Do you see this section of the pic I posted in the 2007 setup thread

games.jpg

Well that's not my game collection... Those would be my unfinished 360 and PS2/3 games. My unfinished Wii games, which now number in the double digits, are on the other side of that room.

I also have around 15 DS and PSP games that I started and never finished and a few still unopened that I bought over a year ago. I box away my finished games and leave these others out as a constant reminder of how much money I'm wasting on games that I'm not playing while all the time buying new ones.

All the games I have on display are games that I enjoy as I usually give the lemons I buy to a one of my brothers or a friend but I tend to get distracted from them so easily. Why I do this, besides the fact that I have AADD, is a mystery to me but clearly I have more love than time for gaming.

Have never finished a FF in console, not because I was stuck or it was hard, its just that, if I never finish them I could play them forever lol, I didn't finished xenogears but just because second disk was a letdown.

If theres a FFVII remake ill finish it.

I find in life I can't discuss gaming with anyone who hasn't played Fallout. Without them one has an incomplete view of the gaming world.

Fear not, as Fallout 3 inches closer GAF will play through them again.

Here's where I'm at with some of my games. I have more I'm playing through, just not the energy to write them all out. I have about 10 PSP games I'm playing through too. Now where's my ADHD medicine? :lol :lol :lol :lol

Gears Of War
Not enough time, in chapter 2.

REZ HD
Can't get the extra modes, not high enough of a score (damn near impossible), you have to shoot every enemy down.

Psychonauts

Lost after the underwater lake scenario, too lazy to use Gamefaqs.

Call Of Duty 4
Not enough time, in chapter 2.

The Bigs
Can't beat opening day, I suck ass.

Eternal Sonata
Gave it up for a while to play Mass Effect

Devil May Cry 4
Stuck after I get that crazy weapon with 666 forms.

Crackdown
Lost interest (after playing co-op you realize it sucks only playing by yourself).

Mass Effect

Playthrough 2, Hardcore is really tough.

Virtua Fighter 5
Stuck at one of the last tournaments, keep getting 4th place.

Ace Combat 6

Didn't enjoy it, but liked it enough to keep it over the 30$ Gamestop would give me.

Burnout Paradise
Lost interest. Some games don't need open worlds.

The Orange Box
Stuck in Ep 2, can't remember where.

Lost Odyssey
Fuck this game, it's too hard.

Bioshock
Stopped playing for a while to finish Mass Effect

Fight Night Round 3
Difficulty spike near the 4th am-tourney kicked the hell out of me.

Tomb Raider Legend
Bough on a whim, didn't enjoy enough.

Dead Or Alive 4
Can't beat the last boss with about 4 of the characters, too cheap.

Splinter Cell Double Agent

Not as good as Chaos Theory

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
I should pick this up again. It's just collecting dust.

Ninja Gaiden Black

DMC4 took all my energy from this game.

Panzer Dragoon Orta
Stuck on level 3.

Crimson Skies
Stuck on the third world.

Fable
Stuck in one of the starting missions, it's just so damn tedious I gave up.

Lost Planet
Was just to hold me over until DMC4, don't ask me why, I gave up on it.

PGR3

Too easy, gave up on it.

Viva Pinata
Wait, why aren't I playing this game more? I love it.

You're fucked.

LOLOLOL.

No, I'm not man, I just finished Mass Effect yesterday, and I'm going to be completing Eternal Sonata next. I only have about an hour left of DMC4, and I'm returning Lost Odyssey because it kicks my ass and I don't have the patience to play against a boss 30+ times to beat him.

This generation I haven't finished Super Mario Galaxy (120 stars are elusive, but I have completed the main quest) and Metroid Prime 3. I have a huge backlog from last gen however, including Metroid Prime 2 and Beyond Good and Evil

I'm hording games from last gen right now. Mostly GC and PS2 rpgs I never got around to playing I have about 4 GC rpgs I just ordered and I also have six unplayed PS2 rpgs.

I figure they'll come in handy next gen when EA takes over with their "one console" and ruin gaming forever. It's my gaming apocalypse survival kit.

Metroid Prime 2 was AWFUL (in my opinion), but Metroid Prime 3 was pure gold.

FFXII
I'm about 40 hrs in and I can remember vaguely what is going on.....can't be bothered to go back and be forced to grind some more

Halo 3
I think I finished up until Mission 6 or so.....intend on just starting over again (maybe in the summer?) and beating the game

Orange Box

Finished HL2, now on HL2 : Ep 1's beginning

Puzzle Quest (PSP)

I think I just got into Khur (sp?) and I really have no idea how much time is left...mostly just play this one on the bus occassionally

Zelda PH
I think I'm going back to that temple for like the 4th time and I just quit....I was really enjoying the game too, but that temple back-tracking is killing me.

Assassin's Creed
I think I finished the first mission and I'm in the Kingdom....this game is just lingering around now.

Metroid Prime 3
I'm about 10 hours into this one......with the other "fancy" FPS games that came out, this one has just gotten lost in the shuffle for me.

I'm just like everyone else: too many unfinished games. It always kills me to think that there are Zelda games out there that I've never completed nor played and I consider myself a Nintendo fanboy. I've taken up the challenge to change that. Every major Mario and Zelda game will be replayed/finished for the first time by the end of Summer 2008! (College is out in a month, so I should have the time).

Backloggery

What order and how I will play the games

There's plenty more games that I'm ashamed to not have finished, but I'm taking care of Zelda once and for all.

edit// Where's dungeon 7 in Zelda 1? I've located every other dungeon, but 7 is eluding me. Just so happens I've just finished 6...so I need to move on.

edit2// Haha. 2 seconds later I found it.

FFXII. Played the first 40 hours on the PS2, then Zelda TP came out. Then played 40 hours again on the PS3 (couldn't transfer my save).. and for some reason abandoned it again.

Okami. Yawn.

Half Life 2. I think I'm close to the end, but haven't touched it in months.

Assassin's Creed. Haven't even done the first assassination. Such a dry game.

Bioshock. Not sure why I didn't get into this.

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Bought, but never played.
