Project CARS | 'Start your engines' trailer

For those still wondering why they should get Project CARS, here’s a quick rundown of what to expect…

It’s got a huge variety of motorsports on offer. Our teams are based in over 18 different countries so cars and car culture all mean something different to us all. For me, it’s growing up in the ’80s with the Formula 1 days of Nigel Mansell and Ayrton Senna.

For others it’s modern-day NASCAR, the German Touring scene, or European Endurance racing. So with Project CARS we wanted to ensure the cars in the game represented truly global motorsports with each of their rules and formats intact.

Project CARS has the largest track roster of any recent racing game: locations from all around the world from Australia to Dubai to Belgium, Japan, US West Coast, and the UK we’ve packed in over 250 miles of tarmac.

Lastly but by no means least, we’ve ensured that Project CARS is accessible, customisable, and tailored to each and everyone’s comfort and skill level with a huge amount of personalisation options.

You can dial the handling to anything from a complete sim experience to something more casual. With Project CARS you’ll truly be able to make it your own.

Is there a car roster up anywhere?

Definitely looking forward to grabbing this.

Edit: Found car roster. Eh. Better than most.

So, on Ps4 will this be more arcade or more sim compared to say driveclub ?

I watched the trailer and still don't know what type of game it is.

Of course the PlayStation Blog is promoting a new Project Cars trailer the day where they could maybe talk about some update for another racing game on PS4... what was its name already, Drivesomething ?

Oh I see the trailer is even hosted by the PlayStation channel. If you don't know the PhenomEvolution channel however (I think it belongs to the community manager of Evolution Studios) you may not even know that Drivesomething got 5 new tracks today.

Day 1 for me. Craving for a good sim on my PS4... And I have good vibes about this one.

Gonna be great: i can feel it.

What would they promote ? I thought the Drive club DLC was free and it will show up on the dashboard and download automatically anyway .?

...unless you went to GAF, where you'd hear about it even in a Project Cars thread.

Sigh.

looks absolutely fantastic! very excited for this. do we know the final track count and locations?

This could be amazing.

Or they could have tried to do too many things.

Assetto Corsa has set a decent benchmark.

Just want to see what its like to like, you know,, actually play the damn game.

These sort of trailers showing short clips of cars from different angles is a bore and does nothing to tell me what the game is like to play.

Looks alright.

...then why are you watching a trailer? go to youtube, there's gameplay videos all over the place.

I read some of the responses in this thread and then wonder why there is so much outrage when we see nonsense like the GS video about all racing games needing to be open world games with stunts and the like.

There's plenty of space for games like Project Cars, DriveClub and Forza Horizon. No need for all of them to be the same. Devs/Pubs thinking that's what we want is what lead us to the Ubisoft openworld template that they drop into every game they make.

I'm very excited to try this game out, love me a good sim racer. Hope there will be a demo for us to try.

It's a Racing Sim, there isn't exactly much to show gameplay wise that hasn't been done elsewhere.

I'm just trying to decide whether or not I want to buy it now, and what platform to buy it for (Part of me kind of wants to get the XB1 version so I have all my racers in one place (FH2, FM5, FM6, FH3?, etc.), but I assume the PS4 version will have the visual edge)

Eh.

Racers are dead to me until Morpheus or CV1 are out. They are the perfect use case for VR, and I won't waste my time playing in 2D like a caveman any more.

This does look pretty, if not crushingly plain and uninspired.

I'm afraid that the 'freeform' career mode will suck. No matter, I'm still buying it. I wasn't sold on Driveclub's "career" before the premiere and it turned out that I had tons of fun fighting for the stars.

I'll consider VR when I don't have to wear a headset. Glasses would be fine, but a huge wired headset is definitely not. Bring on the Holo Deck.

No, it is a full hardcore driving sim with option to reduce down the difficulty of driving.

the handling + camera options of shift + large track selection + 60 fps = winner. might be tough for fm6 to top this for me

I need quality racing game bad, this looks like it wil fit the build. Please tell me it has 2 player splitscreen at the least.

Also is it really pushing 1080 and 60 on PS4? That would be insane considering how good it looks.

Go to the YT and see thousand videos of pCARS in action. Start with Rene Rast, successful professional driver who uses this game as his home simulator.

Still looking forward to seeing how they are going to implement acceleration and braking on the WiiU.
