feh, 'true beauty ends where an intellectual expression begins' the man said. Like all artwork it either speaks to you or it doesn't. It's especially impressive if it comes from a young guy with no formal training though. One of them was done when he was 16, and it looks like all other concept art? That's saying something.
These 2 pictures remind me why I miss prerendered backrounds. I'd love to be able to move in these exact environments, and the artistic presentation never gets across as well on a piece like this as it does in a prerendered background. More than that, it makes such a cinematic shot. Animate the backgrounds as well with flying ships on the top one, birds/villagers/elephants/mist on the 2nd one.

There's a potential difference in attitude here though. One way was to come into the thread and say what he did... the other was to say "I prefer some of x's work. Check it out".
Seems like it would have been easier still to avoid posting anything if it was going to be needlessly negative.
