Project Offset vid

Is it me or did this game look a little better graphically in the older Project offset vids. Its still pretty close though and I'm still incredibly hyped for this game and what those guys are coming up with. can some one post the original vids from 2 years ago?

I believe they were originally aiming for an oblivion like sandbox game, though this may have changed recently.

I'm still really impressed but I'd be much happier if the game was sandbox (fantasy/sci-fi sandbox games ftw).

something about the engine looks like it took a downgrade compared to the modeling/lighting they've shown in past trailers. I hope for good things from this engine, a true fantasy FPS would be pretty sweet.

For being first project of the company out of nowhere this is really ambitious project. Here is the hope that it delivers at the end.

Official website posted this:

July 30, 2007 - Video Leak

It has come to our attention that a video we made for internal purposes was leaked and is being spread around. Again, this video was for internal use only and we didn't intend to release it publically.

We'd like to request that news sites please not post this video.

That'll be decided by their publisher. Do we know who their publisher is yet?

Speevy, this topic was posted two minutes before you posted WOW. Did you really manage to download it, watch it, and reply to the OP all within that 2 minutes? Impressive. :)

the clip donwloads in seconds (i got almost 1MB/s) and is pretty short. I can see it being possible.

By the way this game is backed by yet unannounced publisher.

WMV is still our primary format, mp4 is always being reencoded from the wmv version.
Blim, don't know if you are planning to post it or not, but they are asking new sites not to post it.

The design of the dude with the daggers is really cool.

Been waiting for some more info on this game to come out. Still has a good chance ending up as vaporware, I think. But lets hope not, because damn its gorgeous.

That whole deal is kind of silly though. Unless there is a glitch in the system, it just makes it obvious that they severely overestimated the general interest in the game.

More like they under-estimated it. The first and second picture went up so fast that they made the third one near impossible.

I rememeber seeing the first video for this a few years back and being impressed. After watching this video I'm still impressed. Definantly keep my eye on this.

Unprofessional Gametrailers.com have posted it too now.

And to think they make money with that site (plus they are owned by MTV).

Project Offset, SUE THEM!

I still think this game looked more impressive when they originally showed it, I just got through watching the older vids. Though...this still looks fantastic.

Dang, take out some of the slight animation quirks and this game looks like CG. Freaking amazing and very close to the initial trailers they showed.

i call bullox. most of the time, those 'leaks' arent by accident - are done purposely to get the word out and yet cover their asses if the word is bad
Me too.

***Please don't watch this video or post it on news sites***

:lol

i originally thought there was a bit of a downgrade, but then i went back and grabbed the dragon video and rethought my position.

it still looks absolutely amazing. if that's a console game for any platform, it still looks better than anything i've seen thus far, though part of that is probably my liking of the style.

look at the bow and arrrow video from back then...I like the soft texture style they were using back then, though it seems as there is much more happening on screen now... so the sacrifice is very minimal.

well i only saw one with another bow in it, but it was a normal bow and not a crossbow so i couldn't really compare. with the motion blur it's really hard for me to tell much, especially on what's likely a slightly post-processed video. you're probably right though, they likely did make a trade-off in some of the textures to allow more stuff to occur, but if you check the dragon there were some pretty low-res textures in that video.
