Project Offset vid

gametrailers has it listed for PC only.
I'm pretty sure they plan to bring it to all platforms, at least eventually.

I just watched it and it looks great, but I hope we're not forced to play in third person during melee combat.

Looks excellent, and there is still so much of it to see.

Really big game coming sooner than we expected, quoth 1up chap. Coincidence ?

Their publisher is no one, unless something changed recently
It has been announced by Project Offset team that they've got some well known publisher's backing.

One of the update on their website - http://www.projectoffset.com/news.html - says:

October 23, 2006 - Project Update

As you have probably noticed, we've been rather quiet lately but things are going great. We just passed a big milestone for our as-yet-unnanounced publisher. Everyone on the team is extremely motivated to make Project Offset the best game it can be, and we couldn't be happier with the way things are working out. For people that have been begging us to provide some more information, videos, etc., all I can say is that we would love to spill the beans, but we need to be in "stealth mode" for a while until we feel it's time to make our big "second debut".

I just hope it's not EA or Activision.

I really don't know that much, I just hear things from people in the know over casual conversations.

I'm pulling for the team to get signed. They seem like a smart group of people.

What is the problem for this not getting picked up?

thats bullshit. they clearly had this for the public.

Its quite possible this was a draft trailer that they cut together with the intention of replacing each shot with better footage. Its quite possible this was never intended for release, especially given the absence of copyright text and logos etc.

Fools believe what they read on forums, official or not, but someone on the PO forums posted that the vid is a year old.

Didn't know about publisher relationship dissolving. Ow.

didnt it look much better before? perhaps I'm being spoiled by new games but the first time I saw this game I was completely blown away. After seeing this trailer, the feeling is lost.

I'm really interested in this game simply for the premise of massive online medieval multiplayer. If its done right, balanced and fun and still looks great then goddamn this game will be good.

either way,

its a day 1 purchase for me. That guy reminds me of my old dagger rogue from w.o.w. I love how he was invisable and then just comes up and slices his throat. I love the midevil feel that it has, its hard to capture that feel and this game does a great job.
The whole philosophy behind the game is amazing.
Just give me this game, bioshock, mass effect, too human, fallout 3, and fable 2 and i will be set for this generation of gaming

i hope they show us new footage though, because this is old. I have been following this game closely for a while now and i really hope we get new update soon.

Over all people like it and thanks to the trailer being up on major sites like Game Trailers it's now getting major mind share where it wasn't before. If I was the dev I'd be pissed it was leaked, but quite pleased with the outcome of the leak.

If it's such an old build, I imagine people being impressed by it is still only a small consolation. The impression this is giving is that Project Offset = graphics and gameplay that the team have probably considerably surpassed by now, so whatever mindshare they get basically comprises an unfavourable, misleading disjunction. It also makes it look like they really don't have their shit together in some ways, considering the coma their viral campaign has gone into. I don't think they'd be pleased at all.

*** A bit unfair to say that it looks like they don't have their shit together - leaks happen to pathologically well-organised studios, I guess. Still, it's messy.

I don't know what this means.

People everywhere who see the trailer this morning will associate Project Offset with something that used to be Project Offset. As such, awareness of the game is made up of impressions that are out of date, factually out of joint and which make Project Offset look less than it might be. I am only assuming, of course, that the game has massively improved since the leaked trailer was made.

Underwhelming. Scripted background action + Assassin's Creed like combat. I expected more from what I saw years ago in their demo.

Approximately 5 people know or give a shit about this game, until they get some kind of handle on what's going to happen in terms of publishing this thing is pretty much vaporware.

The fairly impressive video has done 0 "damage" to the game's image.

Yeah if this is a year old and people are going WOW WOOT AWESOME then imagine when they get more finalized footage.

Anyway, WOW! WOOT! AWESOME!:D

I saw the gametrailers video. looks good in some areas, but not so great in other places. also the framerate chugs badly. Project Offset has nothing on Crysis, but, it looks to hold some promise. it's still vaporware though. Id's Tech 5 engine at least will have some series backing.

The combat doesn't look particularly good but the environments look great and the developers have used motion blur really effectively. Hopefully we see it on one or both of the consoles.

seriously if it wasn`t mean to be showed then why did they put on the server?, they were looking for attention since its been months since we have heard from this game.

Not if we consider that the footage is a year old, supposedly.

Yeah, it didn't quite touch what they've showed before. At the same time, it looks more like a marketable product now though. At least in the feel that it's an actual game now. I liked it better though when I had the impression of never having seen something like this before. Anyway, I'm still rooting for the team to get this game made.
