Project Treasure Island Z is really, really good.

Ha, ha, ha.

i just saw IGN video and i didn't know anything about this game, but holy crap this looks fun! :D interest definitely rising. it's like zelda and wario ware, looks really good.

i'll keep an eye on it, maybe will even buy it.

This reminds me so much of Mega Man Legends...especially that monkey thing.
Ditto... Inafune needs to reuse this engine for MML3 and TB2.

All internal projects at Capcom are supervised by Inafune, but yeah at the Capcom BBS they said this is the Wii game he was talking about recently (which means some members of the Okami team are working on it as well).
From my understanding, it's being made by the core UGNG team. Hopefully it sells better. :)

I realize that this Zack guy is hardly a household name, but I think it would be awesome if WW Link and he got together for some cel-shaded adventure action in a future title a la Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. The two just seem like they would be great together.

Barring that, it would be almost as cool if he appeared in Zelda-esque games with even more well designed cel-shaded characters. It seems like all the Celda games are going to be relegated to the DS.

Oh? So it wasn't the game Inafune was making reference too? Maybe he meant another Wii game? :D

Watching the video, this game looks really, really nice. Wonderful use of cel-shading, fantastic artistic direction, and I like what we see of the gameplay as well. The two Chrises (R and K) comparing this to classic point-and-click adventures is definitely encouraging, too.

This is really very easily the game that most interests me of all the stuff Capcom had at their event. And hey, now I have one Capcom Wii game to look forward to instead of 0!

By the way, Chris, are you going to do a full preview/impressions post on Shacknews? I'm hoping so.

No, it is the game... UGNG was done under Infaune's old division (Production Studio 2) as well. Not sure how involved in it he was personally though, he seemed mostly preoccupied with the PSP MegaMan remakes.

Gobliiins Wii and only 40 dollars??? This is great news. And I very much trust capcom with adventure games at this point.

Kobun Heat (Chris) and the fella from MTV kick Luke and Matt's ass from here to next week.

You guys on here heap praise on the hairy one but we have our very own legend who makes Luke look like a whiny bitch..

Chris Big Thumbs up to you, you're good at what you do, and you're good with it too.

The social aspect may seem amusing to some people, but they must have never played an adventure game in a social setting... I can remember playing games like Kings quest and shadowgate with friends and family.. One person would be the driver while everybody else helped brainstorm for the puzzles. It's a surprisingly fun way to play a game like this. Maybe it shouldn't be a huge emphasis in the marketing, but it's a pretty cool thing that naturaly develops in point and click adventure titles.
Which is why I wish they could come up with a way to play DS games on a television. I'd love to play Phoenix Wright and hear the Turnabout music come blasting out of the speakers.

I think Capcom will do a great job with this and I'm really glad it's a point-and-click adventure style game rather than the Zelda type. Actually quite a few high-profile Wii games are from less common genres which really has me excited and hopefully this sort of trend will continue. Gogo Capcom!

wow, looks amazing, Capcom are reviving old genres on Wii-first Lightgun with Resident Evil now Point and Click adventures? The mechanics also look like they work great and they look like they work perfectly with the Wii-as do the graphics!

Really looking forward to this one now... looks like a lot of fun. Now all we need is a couple good action games (not re-hashes, and even though I look forward to UC -- it's not enough) from Capcom and I'll be happy.

This is probably my biggest complain:
The "guy", that shows you how to use the wiimote looks sooo silly and out of place, compared to Trease Island´s art-stlye.

Yeah, I agree. That guy just looks kinda out of place and weird since he's just like a plain, lifeless mannequin. Anyone else think it'd be a nice touch if they used your Mii as the guy that shows you how to use the wiimote? Sure, it wouldn't be necessary at all, but it'd make it a little more personal since you are actually the one making the motions. Plus, it seems like Capcom's at a loss for creativity when it comes to designing that guy anyway. Now if only Nintendo would give out the Mii codes to developers...

Wallpaper sized... well bigger actually, crop it to your own desktop.

Looks like a really interesting game...I'm glad Capcom are supporting the Wii...2 out of 3 titles are unique to the Wii which is a better average then most developers seem to want to aim for...:D

I can't wait till publishers/developers get ports to the Wii out of their system. The quicker the better the platform will start to really have games that are Wii specific.:)

Looks fun, I certainly could go for a new adventure game. Gotta admit the video inspired me to make my first animated gif (don't kill me, just an amateur).

That part was too good to ignore:)

My first impression before I read the blog was ho-hum. But boy was I wrong, it looks fantastic! If that tricky little puzzle was in the first 5 minutes and was super-simple comparatively, then this game is gonna be a blast!

Now that I think about it, this is exactly the kind of game Rayman Wii could have been, instead of a mindless (but arguably good) minigames party : I mean a game built around a full adventure, featuring intensive and various use of the Wiimote and Nunchuk capabilities for action and puzzle solving, while retaining the basic Rayman-type plateforming gameplay.
Really, I can't wait to see what the Ancel team is going to do with the Rayman franchise, but here is hoping they are taking notes - or that they have a really innovative game design ideas involving the Wiimote up their sleeves. It seems like the Capcom team just "got it" first...

This game is looking nice. I agree that guy in the upper right is a little out of place. At least put a shirt on him.

This game looks cool, but jesus, does the GAF Hype Train go from 0-60 in like two posts.

Depending on the poster it can also go from 1000-0 in one post too (see sp0rks ww:smooth moves thread).

:lol :lol You're my hero.

Any chance of the Uk getting this one, ever? If so I'll probably buy this, another Capcom Wii exclusive, and a decent looking game too, love it :)

A point 'n click adventure on the Wii? **** YEAH! Awesome news. Just keep the genre alive, you ****ers!

Capcom is owning on the Wii lately. This takes the count up to 3 Capcom games I need to buy. :D

Hopefully with Professor F still overseeing them - which would explain the vaguely Tomba vibe and the good puzzles.

Just saw the videos and it looks really fun.

Love the art style and humor in the game. Plus the use of the wiimote lookes to be pretty interesting.

Its clearly on my radar now.

I heard about this.

Goddamn it Capcom, you, konami, EA, and Sega along with Nintendos first party are gonna make me broke but extremely happy this year. Im REALLY loving how a lot of the wii ground up developed games are using a windwakeresque cel shaded/cartoony look. Its ****ing perfect.

You won't be saying that when developers start putting the PPU in Graphics mode instead of Waggle mode in 2008 when all the casual gamers suddenly decide the Wii's graphics aren't right for them and PS3 picks up steam for this very reason.

Well, judging by the screenshots, there's a certain element of the story that appears to have been taken out. I couldn't reveal it, and why I know, though.
