IMO MS's support has always been hit or miss. When Hitman Blood Money came out: my launch 360 succumbed to the RROD- I got a new Xbox and year of Xbox live for the trouble.
The next 3 Xbox 360s I would get replaced (for a price) all came with a year of Xbox Live and the last Xbox to come back arrived with a Skyrim code to download (didn't need it but the gesture was nice).
fast forward: My replacement for my loud Xbox One Day Edition arrives this morning with a 7 day XBL trial in the box.

I think it was downloaded with Forza. With Dead Rising 3 it gave me a pop-up, iirc it happened just after booting the game, that there was new content that I could download (also own the season pass for that game) and opened a screen with more add-ons than appear in the store.How did you get the Forza content?

Same experience about anywhere. It's very hit or (most of the times) miss regarding sales&support.Eh most customer service and even sales people are like that unfortunately. Sony employees at a sony store by me are so uneducated about the PS4, MS employees at MS store too. Surprisingly at the Nintendo kiosks those guys tend to be fairly well informed but that might have been that random guy

For those with Ryse issues (or Forza for that matter), look me up on twitter @XboxQwik and I can look into it. I'm not with support, but I'm in Studios and worked on Ryse. I've outlined this thread and issue to Support leadership and they are looking into it. I get it sucks and for anyone with this issue - let me apologize (I know that doesn't mean much).
I've taken the issue offline with the thread host to solve his/her specific issue.
