I knew an "escort" many years ago - she worked in some of the top brothels in Sydney like the one mentioned in the top article. As a short term job it wasn't bad, but after a couple of years it really started to affect her. However she was addicted to the money and consequently felt trapped in that lifestyle.

She's out now (as far as I know I've lost contact) and moved on, but there's a lot of denial in the sex trade. They'll tell you that they're the ones in control, and to a large extent that's true, but having sex with multiple people a night who pay you to fulfil their often perverted fantasies isn't without consequences.

It's interesting about the disabilities - she has serviced some people like that and it made her feel better about her job.
