PS Plus Free Games & Games With Gold: Do you "buy" everything?

I buy everything on GwG

when I still had PS+, I was pretty selective. had months where I didn't get a single thing

Of course. I'm not neurotic, so I don't get hung up on "clutter" on some digital storefront.

It goes against everything that I stand for, to refuse something that is "free".

I take everything from PS+, the only exception was Twisted Metal PS3 last fall because I have EU PS+ and I refuse to "buy" censored games, even for free.

I often forget and end up getting none of them.

Sometimes I wonder why I have PS+, to be honest. Just bought another year of it, too.

No.

If I'm not interested in playing a game, I won't.

Even if it's free, my time is worth a lot more.

Every time. I don't even own a PS3 anymore and never plan on buying one again.

Though, this month, I'll probably let A Virus Named Tom expire so I can buy it for Vita, straight out. Games I actually want on Vita I don't like being tied to a subscription and not being able to nab them during a sale even if I pass on them.

Everyone should and actually try the games, indie games especially. Almost impossible to tell if some of them are for you until you actually try them, more so than retail games in my opinion.

I grab all the Xbone games but haven't grabbed any of the 360 stuff. They haven't added anything I would go back to so not really bothered not grabbing them.

I add them all to my list. No there no sense in not doing it. Some I'll delete. Some I'll likely never play. But I'll have the backlog ready if there is ever a dry spot.

I had been skipping the 360 stuff. But now, with BC, I get those too.

I can't even remember what the last game I dl'd from PS Plus was tbh. I'm not saying indies = trash, but nothing that's been on there for a long time has appealed to me.

I urge everyone to "buy" all the games that are offered each month.

I wont play everything but it actually helps the developers behind the games. they get a cut depending on how many games are claimed by users. every game that isn't claimed is just subscription money that goes into Sony/MS's pocket.

Yes, if I want to play that game 1year from now and could have gotten it for free.

Building your library is the best thing you could do to discover new things, and not doing it when you have the option to do it for 'free' may not be the best choice.

Lately, no. I used to just buy everything, but the store is so unwieldy that I'd dearly love to remove a lot of games I've already added.

Is there any advantage to the developers to us adding these games? Does the numbers of 'buys' affect how much they make or anything?

According to interviews, it seems that 'ps+ games purchased' equals 'added to library' and as many dev-Sony deals are done on 'sale' number, I guess that yes, it matters if you add it to your library.

Nahhh. I tried the first few games after launch and I was appalled. Not gonna bother again until they start adding some AAA games.

The lack of permanence is another thing that bothers me. I'd rather just outright buy a game than have my ownership tied to a subscription.

That is my main annoyance with PS+ in that there is no way to actually buy a game that you got as part of the subscription while still subscribed. On XB1 you're able to buy the games while still subscribed.

With that said, I "buy" all the games from PS+ and XBL.

Just about everything except Sports games because I don't like them.

if a game doesn't look interesting I just won't download it...

That rule has been applied to Borderlands, Rocket League, The Witcher 2, and a large number of games for both platforms.

Nothing like virtual clutter.

Seriously though, I buy everything; even if I already own the game on another platform.

Sure. There was once a time when I would play all the games too. Then Rocket League happened and I lost desire to play other games for the most part so I kinda don't have time to try everything. Plus my PS3 isn't set up anymore. I do try literally everything on Vita though. I call this the might as well try it if I don't have access to Rocket League right now effect.

There have been one or two where I'm like "there's no way in hell that I'm ever, in a million years and drunk off my ass, going to decide that I want to spend time playing this game." But yeah, I think I've "bought" 99% of the titles.

Not at all. Even though it's free I don't buy or play crap. I do my research on the games and I take what isquality. I can safely say I've been taking ALOT more from GwG then ps plus the past few months .

Xbox Gold, sure. The Xbox One titles don't do much for me, but the "you own these even if your Gold expires + backwards compatible" aspect of the 360 games means I redeem 'em every time.

I'm more choosy with some PS+ stuff, though. If my PS+ expires, I dunno if I'll ever have a way to permanently acquire stuff like Scott Pilgrim, now that the license has lapsed. In those cases, and with some indie titles that interest me and that I want to support, I'll hold off and actually pay for them later.

Yes, and it try them all out.
Except the 360 games if I've played them before.
Some of those X1 one games get deleted very quickly though...
One I didn't even try, forget it's name, xbox's Knack it sounded like.
