PS2 Classics finally come to EU (out this week!)

After two hours spent with God Hand I gotta say it's one of the most awesome and fun games i've played.
So effin' satisfying pulling off moves and combos, the customizeable moveset is really great and adds so much depth to the fighting system. It's awesomely ridiculous in the story department too.

Thank you based Clover studio.

I've found God Hand underwhelming personally. I certainly don't regret buying it, it's a great combat system, but everything surrounding that is bad. Considering it's between RE4 and Vanquish, I'm surprised by how low rent it all seems.

Can anyone confirm these work on non-European PS3s / TVs? I ask as I'm in Japan with an American PS3 and a UK account and the British PSone games haven't worked for me in the past.

They will work =)
Any game you buy from ANY PSN account will work on your PS3. I have an EU PS3 but I've bought stuff off US PSN.

BTW, sorry for asking this again but are the games 50 Hz? If so what games have an option to play in 60 Hz?

Sorry, but this isn't the case. I have multiple accounts from multiple regions and I can tell you the PSone games I've bought give me the error message "You cannot play this game at the current video output setting (80028F10)." This is probably down to not being able to use a 50Hz signal on Japanese / American TVs.

I'm essentially asking the same question as you - has anyone in the US got any of these European PS2 games working on their TVs?

I don't know about the others, but God Hand has a 50/60Hz toggle.

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution is on the PAL store now too... urgh... I really need to know if these work on non-50Hz TVs/PS3s...

I remember that the PAL PS2 version has a 50/60hz selector when you boot up the game. Not sure how it would boot up on an NTSC only system though. :/

I'm really tempted on picking up VF4 again but with Final Showdown so close...

Oh I see, what TV do you play your PS3 on if you don't mind me asking?

It's a Japanese Panasonic 50" Plasma from 3-4 years ago. I get the feeling that even if I were to buy games I know have the 50/60Hz option, the default will be 50Hz and I'll get the same error as above.

50hz PAL PS2 games? Eeeeew. Might as well forget the whole "classics" idea.

Or then just publish the NTSC versions.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! WTF man! US PSN doesn't have Army of Zin yet right?? Europeans got it first??

THAT'S SOME GOD DAMN BULLSHIT FUCK YOU SONY FOR REAL :|

Final Showdown isn't that close- it's 5 months. Playing the AI in VF4 Evo and the Tutorial will help your VF game out. I'd get the game.

Yep. I've recently got back into VF5 because I plan to play Final Showdown seriously. I don't want to constantly refer back to my PC so i've bough 4 Evo for the training mode.
