PS3 controller not doing ANYTHING

I was playing warhawk and my controller shut off midplay. The battery should have been nearly full. I quickly turned on the other one, unplugged it, turned it on again then plugged the one that turned off in. It started to charge and i hit home to see it was full on battery. I quit warhawk to see if it was to do with that. Now I can't get the controller to turn on or charge.

edit: The bitch about Sony product curse happened again. Anytime someone has a tech problem with the PS3 it is fixed on the first page! see post 20.

the one to the right of the screw hole? I didn't get any results. Do I want to do that with the ps3 on or off? with the controller plugged in or not?

I didn't get any effect trying to reset the one that works either though.

Tech Support:

Have you tried a different USB cable? Or confirmed that the USB cable works with a different controller?

Reset your PS3? Hold down the power button for 5 seconds.

Checked the menu and settings.

Tried the controller on a different PS3 if possible?

Still not working? Well, did you know we have a new rumble controller coming out soon? Maybe you wanted to wait for that?

the usb cable charges the other controller
i have turned the ps3 off and on, first thing i did
What menu and settings? there are no settings for controllers that I see. Bluetooth devices doesn't have a choice for controllers

No other PS3 to test it on.

I don't really want to eat a loss on the controller right now. I am poor as shit.

ok a pen is too fat. When I use a thumb tack the button actually pushes in a few milimetres. The controller blinked a few times(was on USB and did the 4 light blink) but still won't work.

There's a tiny reset button on the controller look for it (might have to use a pin) and try to re-sync it to the PS3.

It's busted. Covered under warranty. Call sony and tell them of the troubleshooting you've done.

what good is that when its not responding at all?

That's what I did for mine , no indication, no power leds etc, I hit the reset pin it while having a USB cable connected to the PS3 and it worked.
Other then that it's a faulty battery.

Ohh I missed this post :( yup sounds like it got busted.

damnit i don't have time to deal with the bullshit of things breaking.

Hmm it's still covered warranty call them up and they probably replace it for you. Besides you still have one more controller.

The battery indicator could be off sometimes. One time I kept having issues with my controller even though the idicator showed that the battery was still half full. After I plugged it in for several hours and let it charge to the max, the problems went away.

well I emailed them because their office hours end at 8pm.

Does anyone have experience with sony's warrantee department? Am I going to get fucked around? Do I have to pay for shipping? Are they fast?

I am scared it will do this again and again though. I guess it was heating related though? Battery got too hot?

Let the battery charge fully, leave the PS3 on or while playing games and charge your controller (or you use the PC for that as well).

Don't believe the indicator, just let it charge for 8 hours min.
