Hey Snatches this is all the other information that he said was going to be revealed true in due time.
Hey guys I have a list of stuff that still needs to be proven.
1. Said the launch title lineup was 30 games, but at the moment it's 15. But he said it's changing all the time.
2. Says that Heavenly Sword has been given a nice upgrade in the graphics and that it now has a "God of War type violence" upgrade. So this game will be more violent a.k.a. Gaffe's vision. You know how violent that game was.
3. Says Killzone 2 is Sony's big secret weapon. KZ2 announcements will be made around the launch of the PS3. And that it does look like the video from E3 2K5.
4. LAIR won't be out until Summer 2007 at the earilest. Battles are more RTS like where you influence tides of battles.
5. Oblivion will come out on the PS3 with high-res textures due to the Blu-ray disc and the PC will get a special update.
6. 95% of PS3 games will be on BDs, while EA is the company out of everybody that might not be using them for the time being. This is due to them making games for the lowest common denominator.
7. He has played LAIR and said that the motion tech is used in a big way. Says that not having to use the sticks to fly the dragon frees up the sticks for "other" things, that we will find out soon.
8. NA will get 700,000 of the first 2 million units for the first shipment, then an extra 700,000 will be shipped again to NA before Christmas (1.4 million total) while the other parts of the world gets the remaining 2.6 million split between them.
- The plan for the PSP is that you will be able to see what's playing on your PS3, by viewing it on the PSP. Think location free. This feature will probably not make launch, but will come later.
9. 200 new PSP games shipped between now and Christmas.
10. You know about the disaster that was UMD movies? Well theres a reason for that. Usually Sony works with companies who license their products and lay down certain ground rules (pricing, features, etc). With UMD, they had a hands-off approach and movie studios just started releasing every piece of shit movie in their vault, without special features, at highly inflated prices. Sony is not happy about this at all and is going to try to jump start the UMD movie scene again (could take up to a year) by requiring that releases meet certain guidelines. Guidelines may include an MSRP limit of $15 and that UMDs include all the special features of their DVD equivalents. Its possible that it may be too late to save, but Sony has a lot of muscle and the PSPs multimedia features are its biggest selling points
especially considering the target consumer is a male between the ages of 21 and 40.
So we really have 10 more things to wait and see if it becomes true.
1) Currently I have 10 games on the PS3 launch list, without first party and EA games taken into account. The 15 game estimate is good, but a little on the low side. I would bet on 20 games or so at launch based on info I am aware of.
2) Did we expect anything different but an improvement in visuals given more time with final hardware? Surely the game will impress, it was my best ps3 game of e3. As far as more blood goes? That is truly thrilling news. I would call this info legit.
3) Looking at the e3 video, the visual fidelity is not that impressive and is matched by games like MGS4 and Mass Effect. It might look like that video, but it probably won't animate like that video or play like that video insinuated.
4) Last I spoke to Sony Lair was Q1 07 at the "earliest", nobody expected it to release this year (right?)
5) Old news. Expect a GOTY edition for PS3, 360, and PC in March. They will all look fundamentally identical.
6) All PS3 games are on BD, including EA, period. And everyone is doing cross platform development that will make the 360 and PS3 versions essentially identical. If you are thinking any differently than you will be a sad panda short $600. No first party sony games shown would have problems running on a 360.
7) This sounds cool. Surely one of the very few compelling uses of the Wii-lite functionality of the PS3 dual motion controller is flight games. Maybe their will be more than one released per year this gen? who knows.
8) This is 100% accurate based on the forecasts from e3. Sony will in no way come anywhere close to these forecasts. I asked my Sony rep if they would have 4 million shipped by the end of '06, and he laughed and said he wished we had never said that number. It is a manufacturing impossibility at this point. Believe it. I am going to have a ****ing frustrating November thanks to Sony. Thank God I'll have Gears of War to come home to after long ****ing days of saying "out of stock".
9) :lol :lol :lol :lol If you wan't me to post the PSP release schedule for the balance of '06, I will. This is one of the strange contradictions with this guy I don't understand, but whatever. Some stuff he knows, some stuff he is seriously off base.
10) Sony will not let UMD die that easy, sure. They will definitely make another push and failed attempt at marketing this format as a viable solution for movies. Surely the practical part of your brain is already laughing though, right?
