PS3 fanboy gets some stuff right; GAF astounded

Even if KZ looks EXACTLY like the trailer, people will still cry DOWNGRADE, complain about bad textures, lack of AA, etc. :(

Though I highly doubt they could, love to be proven wrong of course, that video is just above everything and really of course it is since it was done by a CGI studio that does this kind of thing....but regarding your comment, people do like to jump the gun.

The GC MGS4 initial pics of 3 minutes of new footage certainly come to mind. Tsk, tsk people.

Yep.

Personally though I don't care either way.

PS1 -- lots of fun with great games.
PS2 -- same.
PS3 -- same until proven otherwise. (Will buy it before mars for HS among other games)

Except for "gamers".

Oh of course, I was mainly talking about the argument that Sony can match the now infamous CG Killzone video. It'll never be resolved unless it looks like complete ass. :lol

My mind is so blown at this thread. :lol

I can't follow what's going on.

The tardly fanboy rumors from a while ago came true in a small part, but only coincidentally? Then somebody posted on Genmay saying they were an insider and saw an opaque PS3?

Why should we ignore the news exactly? Most of us already understand that he's giving impressions through a fanboy's perspective, but that doesn't mean it's of no interest to us at all, does it?

all I know is he's totally schooling my job. I'm taking notes for the next time I get in to check out how the MS 1st party games are progressing...
like anybody would believe a word I say about them! jokes on me

Well, I'm not too impressed with his recent rash of postings. Does he think the following is news.

Warhawks is looking good (although they are totally revamping the game. It's now a lot like Battlefield and you can get out, run around, and use pretty much every vehicle, item, and weapon in the game - hence they delay). Personally, I'd have preferred they concentrate on the flying aspects of the game, but it seems like they're doing a really good job adding all this extra stuff.

We've all known for a long while now, that Warhawk includes on foot sections. If this is news to him, he hasn't been paying much attention to Warhawk's development. He also states the ps3 is opaque, when we have reports that its actually semi-transparent.

snatches said:
I sat on that because it is NOT ****ING NEWS. Give me an email address, and I will forward you the communication on it. It'll be, you know, dated and shit.

Yes. There is a five page thread going about the ****ing marketing logo.

Disappointment-ton would be if KZ doesn't look like that video, period. Not because he says so, but because that is what Sony says. That is what they showed me to expect and if I drop 6 bills and 60 for the game I should get exactly ****ing that, right?

I'm not doubting you. :p and please, majority of that thread is jokester-type shit, I have yet to see this thread cross over into "joke" territory aside from a few posts "attempting" to derail it, that were quickly glossed over. this thread is 17 pages and going strong with serious discussion as to the validity of Scrivener's claims. don't kid yo'self. that 5 page thread about the marketing slogan isn't even in this threads league.

if you can snatches, debunk a handful of Scrivener's claims as a handful of his claims have come true.

snatches said:
Yes, I can. But nobody would be attributing the impact of that to this fool, amirite? And that goes back to my original point. I started posting a few pages back and led credibility to this guy and his timing. I just don't think anyone should give a **** about what he has to say.

Why the heck not? Because you didn't say it first? At first how many PS3 will be owners cared what he had to say? How many? You could probably count them on one finger.

Now since he is 3 for 3 (or 5 for 5 counting small things) we PS3 buyers care. Why shouldn't we? We want Oblivion with high-res textures, we want Heavenly Sword with a little bit more violence, we want to see 700,000 PS3s come to NA in the first week and then see 700,000 more PS3s come to NA before Christmas.

We also want to see LAIR play the way he stated and would love to see/hear about 200 PSP titles being released between now and Christmas. And why in the heck would I not care about seeing or hearing about KZ2 around launch???

if the ps3 was the same launch price as the 360 their would be nobody complaining on these boards at all. The truth, is that only people who are 1) Rich, 2) Single and employed, or 3) Tech whores who want bluray will be lining up for PS3's. Everyone else is scratching their head at that price for a games console. It's like Sony grew up, but left 90% of its customer base behind and scratching their ****ing heads.

And the launch titles are getting really thin. At e3 '05, Resistance was the least exciting title of everything shown. It has BARELY CHANGED SINCE LAST YEAR. Yet now it is teh new hotness. Why? Because it stands as the only original and exclusive reason you would want a ps3 this year. Great game? No doubt. $650 game? Not ****ing likely.

You'd only know that if you looked up reaaallly close and/or had a special type of camera.

Hell no. I wish you were though. I'd buy Madden 07.

And that's all I need baby. But seriously GAF come on.

Wasn't the jungle game shown in video form in real-time? What's the big difference between them in graphics?

If KZ2 got downgraded from this great quality

to this quality in real-time....

would any of you guys be mad???

Would we get mad? The answer is "yes" - they promised, significantly underdelivered. Would it be acceptable for the game if it hit this level, at least? Certainly - that's the best case scenario I'd welcome.

Couldn't the same be said for every system launch in the past 6 years?

you already know the answer to that question....this is GAF

No seriously I don't know. I wish people would answer.

GREAT QUESTION???

If KZ2 quality animation and graphics (shown in real-time video only format) was the same as the Naughty Dog Jungle game would you guys be happy or mad?

You said handful, and I will come up short. Without a shadow of a doubt, there will not be 200 titles coming out for PSP by the end of the year, as I have already posted. and his comment about multiple user ID's for PS3 that sounds like something you would want? It just means that you will need multiple ID's for different publishers/games due to the fact that the PS3's online system is still a pretty version of PS2's. An open system that can't support a single login user ID. But this is a feature, right?

I agree with some of the posters above....by the time KZ comes out and has these "amazing" graphics, 360 would (theoretically at least) be able to produce the same type of visuals with third generation games (I feel old already typing that).

I got a question though, is 360 capable of 7.1 audio (to rock your balls around of course)?

yea of course with that high perceptive crystal ball of yours, you already know what the PS3 launch lineup is and be able to tell that resistance is the only one worth playing on that list, right?

i really hope no one else bothers replying to this bait....like in any thread, theres usually a few fervent trolls in there to get a piece of the attention-wh0rin pie...its a good equalizer, really....

in other words, no. you can't. :(

Snatches, I'd understand if you wanted to tell people to calm down if the information wasn't true, but why are you trying so hard to convince people excited about the news that it isn't a big deal and that they shouldn't be excited in the first place?

Wow I'm starting to think I'm seeing an agenda coming through.

If not, then why not wait until more games are out and the system has dropped in price?

You could, when do you think they will drop the price of the system by a significant number? 1 year/2 years?
I am sure at least 2 or 3 more good games have been released by then.

umm... I dont think its a different user id for every game. I think its a different user id for each user on the ps3 (remember the individual user login's, the non online ones). and in result each user can have their own PSNP id.

so say you have

mom
dad
son
daughter

all with each login names on the one ps3
each can use their own free PSNP account

dont know about you, but i be more inclined to trust some guy who got 5 outta 5 predictions fairly accurately, than some guy named "snatches" who aint got jack sh*t except spoutin' his crystal ball predictions.

its all relative...ya know what i mean?? :D

But did that Jungle game (Damnit give us the name Sony I'm tired of calling it 'Jungle game') really move and look that much worst than KZ2?

To me they were in the same league. Both had good lighting, animation, physics, and graphics. The only thing KZ2 had was volumetric smoke and more enemies on the screen.

Shite give me Lost Planet's smoke and explosions with the jungle game's lighting and graphics with Stranglehold's physics and who wouldn't be happy?

I can't believe they are still calling it Playstation Network Platform.

Just drop the platform and we'll be good. Playstation Network or Playstation Hub or Playstation Web.

...Playstation Interactive Multiplayer Platform.

LOL PIMP U GUYS SEE?? The kiddies will love it! Chrome with PIMP...this is living!

Plastic Game (Damnit give us the name Sony I'm tired of calling it 'Plastic game') is not in the same league as KZ. It looks good, but not as good as KZ. Jungles arent filled with ficus plants

Yes. Night and day. Honestly, I think people have trouble even grasping just what the Killzone trailer was throwing at you. I have both videos, I have compared them before... it's just different league, different scale, different everything. Certainly, it's not impossible to create a gorgeous Killzone 2... but to reach even close to what the video showed, I can't help but really feel it's all but a pipe dream.

mckmas8808 said:

Well, that's the problem. We both don't agree on this premise here. You think it's in the same league, and I sure as hell don't. I think Naughty Dog's game is beautiful, easily one of the best looking next-gen games and something that is actually acheivable, but it ain't the Killzone CG or close.

mckmas8808 said:

You're asking a different question with this. Instead of saying 'would people complain if they only delived X after showing Y', you're saying 'well I'd settle for this, and this... who wouldn't be happy with that?' In the context of the original Killzone CG video, it's righteous anger because they shouldn't have shown it. Would that mean the actual game didn't look great if it hit these standards you're throwing out? Of course not. But it wouldn't be the CG or close, and that's worth complaining about after these empty promises.

A. No, it looks much, much worse.

Well I kind of feel sorry for Guerilla that SCEE did this again, it's a lot to live up to, with SCEA they seems to let their work speak for themselves since they do have talented bunch of teams namely Naughty Dog that has directly come out and confirm their work as realtime and not give the roundabout like SCEE does...we all remember the beginings of PS2 The Getaway fiasco and still question what was CG or not in some of those E3 2006 vids which did come out of SCEE's territory.
