It just means that you will need multiple ID's for different publishers/games due to the fact that the PS3's online system is still a pretty version of PS2's. An open system that can't support a single login user ID. But this is a feature, right?

OMG! You actually don't understand that logic? It's the samething if people on the internet have 2 or 3 logins to different forums. Me I like mines so I keep it the same. I also don't feel like I have to be 3 different people on 3 different boards.

So if you want to just play around and play some kids online in Madden but you are not serious you use your 2nd ID, BUT if you are serious and you are about to start a tournament then obviously you would use your 1st ID name.

Snatches, I'd understand if you wanted to tell people to calm down if the information wasn't true, but why are you trying so hard to convince people excited about the news that it isn't a big deal and that they shouldn't be excited in the first place?

Who knows. He was trying to convince people that Warhawk was looking ps2 quality "according to his friend" earlier this year. Clearly he feels it's his duty to sober peoples expectations of all things PS3

I cant remember which PlayStation forum it was. Hmm, I dont think its around anymore (I remember the mods started fighting so one of the main mods left and started his own forum, which caused the original forums to die).
I do remember people taking his info and talking about it here though. The forum on which he posted had a GIGANTIC thread in which he answered questions, he was very convincing at first.
It was a long time ago, my memory is a little fuzzy. This guy reminds me of the Konami guy.

It's true. Since May 9th my mind has changed. Where I was once a blatant anti fanboy multi console gamer in love with Sony and their products, everything changed at this e3. I saw a large corporation falling on its sword. Alienating its userbase, slapping its fans in the face with the bluray cost and failing to deliver any real compelling software to justify its price. Look, it is a recent change:

I don't know why I get caught up in these threads. The truth is, my mind is made up. Like I have said in many threads, I will buy a PS3 when I don't feel like I am paying a premium for the inclusion of the bluray drive, period. I should be able to scoop up the five or so games that are must own that don't go multiplatform in 2008 for about $20 each, and a ps3 for $299. As a gaming device, it really has nothing over it's competition, from every piece of software my eyes have witnessed. When Sony shows me a real must have piece of software to justify the price tag, I'll bite.

I have said before that as far as corporate relations go, the difference between MS and Sony is huge. Sony are corporate bullies, always leveraging their position in the industry to make partners bend over and take one for the team, while MS acts as a true corporate partner and is extremely accommodating and helpful. Maybe this slants my opinion as well, I'll admit it.

At the end of the day, I can't spot one thing that Sony has done so far with the ps3 that is defendable in any way as a consumer. And when Sony fans jump on good news to "pwn the xbots" I find it hard to believe. How can you defend these guys, seriously.

Agenda? Sure. Since May 9th I have waited for Sony to change my mind.

Snatches said he had a list of 85psp titles (thx Snatches)... but aren't the PSone games downloads or something? Maybe they wouldn't show up on a distributors list yet? Like how MS Live arcade games just became purchasable by disc (if i remember correctly?), you'd have to wait till they confirmed them on UMD?

I dunno... I just hope they're available soon... and if there's est 200 titles, 85 being actual psp games, I hope the rest are the PSone games... maybe i'm pipe-dreamin'...

Yeah but i think it may be 2nd nature to them because we dont have another name to call it. And personally I think sony is waiting till TGS to announce a name. Whatever the name is, im sure people will uproar in disgust and human heads will explode. While other people will like it. and then you will have the people who just dont give a ****.

PNP sounds good, but i think we can all agree they need a commercial, marketable name like Xbox "Live" to compete. Or I could be wrong.

and guess what? maybe you throw in that ME-TOO hd-dvd drive, maybe a wi-fi adapter, and XBL fees and then voila... you've just added that $300/400 360 price to the equivalent of a "face-slapping" $600 PS3 price :rolleyes

Nobody thinks it will bomb. Everybody thinks a fall to February sellout is inevitable. So will you when you see the REAL launch numbers. As for March and beyond...there is a lot of retailers worried about price. Lets just say that if at some point there is as many unsold PS3's in the retail channel as their currently is PSP's, you will have some really unhappy campers.

My Mum worked in British software development for nearly 20 years, she would never use the terms accomodating and helpful to describe Microsoft. It was more like always trying to break the terms of use, never paying and always using their size and wealth to **** over smaller companies.

Not to get off topic, but my God-father worked for IBM for a long time... He has lot's of ill-feelings towards MS and their corperate procedures... I'd imagine if they would ever get a commanding lead like Sony has had, it would be worse than whatever Sony's swagger could ever be... I mean, they sold 80million less units last time, and they still have some big talk for being trounced like that... I dunno...

Well, if you're 'only' interested in games then he makes a valid point - even some 360 games basically need an HDD badly (Oblivion), and if you want online at all you are going to have to pay at least $200 over the lifetime of the console for it. And if you want BC, you're screwed at $299. Also, online is basically screwed over for $299 pack - you need to buy a HDD that will cost you 75-100.

But, this is not the place for this discussion.
