this is a great update
but, does this mean if I get the PS2 controller plug for the PS3, I can have rumble for my PS2 games? if so, im actually going to order it right now. (do they even make something like this?)
the other major thing I want Sony to fix now is to let me use PS3 accessories for PS2/PS1 games, I want to play GGX2 with my VSHG
not at all, if I wanted to play my PS1 games I own on my PS3, I would just use the CD. Its not like with VC where you would need a different system to play the games.

This is what I want fixed, in order of importance:
Native 720p Blu Ray - now bordering on the ridiculous.
OR
A preference setting for games vs movies, which would be weak and weird, versus actually fixing the Blu Ray problem.
Volume toned WAAAAAAAAAAAY down on game demo previews when you select 'em. Damn. It's going to wreck my speakers.

I was watching the hockey game and decided to move my router and modem around on the comp desk, and I must have hit the hibernate button on the modem. Sure enough, the PS3 had timed out when I got back to it.
A bit scary, I kept getting DNS errors on my PS3 when it tried to log on until I recycled my router and modem. :-o

Here's to hoping they update the current PS for PSP titles so that they function on both systems and release new games that function on both systems. Like they promised.
Or, just have the games downloadable separately and the save files interchangeable. And don't charge for the same game on both systems.
Whatever, I'll just be happy if I see any PS1 games I can play on my PS3 tomorrow. Regardless if I'm interested in buying the game or not.

The better question would be why would you want to popstation a game from a disc and then back to PS3, when the said disc works in PS3 anyway. If you are thinking about circumventing region protection that falls in the same area as playing illegally downloaded copies, if it happens, it won't be from Sony updates.DCharlie said:

wow, if sony allowed us to rip our ps1 games to the hard drive and play it would be totally beyond awesome.

At least I can confirm that the vibration fonction works with ps2 games, just tried Cars (yes i know... but it is my son's game and rumble is omnipresent) with a PS2 controller and usb adapter and rumble works fine now so I suppose it should work on any game.
