PS3 hidden gems? (exclusives preferably)

Thinking about getting a quick and dirty PS3 for couple of games, but would like to know of some
good games which are more obscure (exclusives if possible).

Any ideas?

Folklore is pretty obscure, but at the same time it's also aged really badly.

Puppeteer is a good platformer.

3D Dot Game Heroes is a voxel style RPG

There's a lot of JRPGs if you're into those.

Folklore is really cool, love the mystery aspect of it. Used to own a copy but lent it to a friend and never got it back, always wanted to get another copy.

My choice is Siren: Blood Curse. It's on the PSN, wasn't physical in NA. Physical copies have an uncensored intro but it's really not that big of a difference. Same buddy I lent Folklore to, I also lent Blood Curse, bastard.... thankfully I already had the PSN edition.

Code Veronica X remaster too if you don't already have it. It's not on the PS4, just PS3 and 360 I think.

edit-

Resistance Trilogy and Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, A Crack in Time and all the other R&C games on the platform.

People rarely mention Sly Cooper.

I forgot about that Shadow game. I wouldn't really consider it a "game" though, isn't it just like a tech demo that you can manipulate in a way?

I could be thinking of the wrong game but I'm pretty sure I have it.

Yeah it was one of their Demoscene experiences.

I don't remember the platform particularly fondly for big budget releases (well that entire generation was meh in that perspective) but PS3 had a treasure trove of really cool, obscure (exclusive) titles primarily on PSN. A few more that weren't posted in the thread yet:

I have so many of these..PS3 still my daily driver :) ... totally forgot about Magic Orbz!

For me I'd recommend
Rain
The Killzone series
Resistance series
Wipeout HD
Ridge Racer 7
Haze
LittleBigPlanet
Socom special forces

Trinity Souls of Zill'Oll - Fun action-rpg with original storytelling
Puppeteer - Fun and unique platformer
Folklore - Weird comic book style adventure with probably the only good use of six axis.
Heavenly Sword - Ninja Theory in the early hay day, stylish action and Andy Serkis as the villain.

Modnation racers is a great kart racing game that deserved a sequel. I never played the vita one but heard it was bad.
I would mention Starhawk as I adored that game back then but it was multiplayer focused and I doubt you can play it the way it's supposed to today.
Is Valkyria Chronicles remastered in some way? Not sure if it was rereleased somehow but there's that. I never played any of the sequels.

Ridge Racer 7... Never played it but I really liked RR6 and to my knowledge RR7 is just an improved RR6.

Hidden gems and cult games for the PS3? I got you covered, mate.

PS3 PSN is generally full of those quirky oddities that Sony once used to be known for.

Get yourself a PS move so you can play the following:

Move MindBenders (contains Echochrome 2, Tumble and Lemmings on one disc):

Time crisis razing storm(Razing storm, Time Crisis 4 and Deadstorm pirates on one disc):

I still have mine hooked up for the following:
The Sly Cooper series
The inFamous series
Ratchet and Clank series
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds (which is infinitely better than the PS4 game)
A whole bunch of Tales games especially Tales of Graces F

Not available anymore, but I still have my PS3 for NCAA Football 14, Outrun, and Strongbad's Cool Game for Attractive People

Rain, Tokyo Jungle, Majin and the forsaken kingdom, siren blood curse, the last guy and my favourite Folklore.

You can get all the collections the sly Cooper collection, Jax and daxter collection, mgs legacy collection, ico and sotc collection, zone of the enders hd collection, killzone triology.

Third party generation exclusive must plays include Binary Domain, enslaved, el shaddai,

Play resistance 3, it is a true AAA hidden gem. Then we've got the puppeteer, mgs 4, infamous 1/2, ratchet and clank future series and heavenly swords which are first party games.

Then there are japanese games like boku no natsuyasumi 3 which is the most calming game I've ever played.

Just a few off the top of my head:

Shatter, Super Stardust HD, Folklore, Resistance 3 (and the first in the series also has some merit, but it's way more dated), Tokyo Jungle, Ni No Kuni, Journey.

Btw, here's another semi-obscure one, especially if you're into mechas:

Super Robot Wars OG Infinite battle supposedly has an english language option version. The catch is that you have to get the Asian (Singaporean) version (it comes without a age rating label in the lower left corner).

I have yet to verify it myself.

People are going to hate me for this but..... LAIR yes that dragon game. I quite enjoy thr game with the controller update.

Here to post Folklore.
Plenty already mentioned it already. guess it's not as obscure as I thought.

cool thread. I bought a PS3 last year just to play Demon's Souls, I also beat God of War: Ascension which is totally OK and also still a PS3 exclusive I think?
