PS3 Media Sharing-Need Help

I've been trying to get the PS3 media sharing feature to work with my PC, but previous attempts have failed. I run a desktop PC with WinXP, and I've tried several suggestions, such as using WMP11 or Nero. Nothing has worked, and I'm certain I don't have any firewalls blocking access.

Can anyone help me out? It's a real pain to transfer files back and forth using a PSP.

are you direct connected? you go trough wIfi or ETHERNET?

write down how your network is built up.

its fOK easy

I have the same problem:

Both my PC and PS3 are connected through a wired router, I open WMP11 and click share media, tick share media, click OK, search for files on the PS3 but they both end up finding nothing.

I've got ZoneAlarm on but WMP has full access. Any ideas?

What routers are you guys using? I had trouble also with my Linksys WRT54G until I upgraded the firmware to a third-party one (DD-WRT). After that, Nero worked fine.

I use a wired linksys router for my PC, and a wireless ethernet bridge for my PS3.

I downloaded TwonkyVision, but I have no idea how to make it work. I open it, added some directories, and tried to have my PS3 search for it, but no go.

The only firewall I have up is Sygate, but I never got a prompt that mentions the PS3 or anything.

Does anyone have the link of that program where you use the internet on your PS3 to access your PC folders?

Geez, finally got it to work. Turns out Sygate was causing the problem, as turning it off allowed the PS3 to find my files. Just need to find a way to keep Sygate on while allowing shared media.
