Here is what the new Greatest Hits boxes look like, courtesy of Kotaku:

That's at least 10 times better than the current design of Greatest Hits' cover art. Hopefully this new design will be adopted in all regions.

I really liked the sidebar, not a fan of the new topbar. They should have just changed the spiderman font to something else and keep it on the side IMO. That Midnight Club image for instance looks really fat and has sort of placebo effect of being stretched.

I actually prefer the Spiderman font, even though I hate the Spiderman movies. I think "Playstation 3" looks classy written out, especially on the system. The "PS3" letters are too curvy and goofy-looking, like a chunk of fart.
And curse Sony for replacing the wonderful little multicolor logo that adorned their previous systems with a boring white symbol. Boring graphic art wins again.

This is kind of crazy, isn't it? Shelves full of visible media cases look like shit in the first place.
Visible media is so yucky and 2007.

"New" font and boxarts are more like the Playstation of old everyone associated with gaming.
Easier to read a short name straight up than a long name sideways.
No ugly "Playstation Network" tab.
Old logo was daunting, mysterious, "bladey"- new logo is playful, round, minimalistic, and futuristic.
"PS3" appears more prominently in ads than the shrunken "PLAYSTATION 3"

A little online follow-on campaign for I think Nordic territories:

http://www.nma.co.uk/sony-playstation-targets-older-audience-for-the-ps3/3006475.article

Campaign site the15reasons.com highlights that the PS3 can be used for more than just playing games, to generate appeal to an older audience.

It asks visitors their interests and then plays back the unique selling points of the console through an interactive presenter. Visitors to the site are then invited to create their own video to send onto firneds based on their particular needs.

So you tell this hot chick what you want her to pitch you on, and you can send combinations of reasons to other people (e.g. for xmas present hinting).

I tried it out, would be nicer if it loaded faster. But seems cool, with the odd weird mini-game thrown in (e.g. under music):
