PS3 to pick up 360 Title - Speculate away.

Wait, so Castle Crashers WASN'T the game they were referring to? Supposedly it isn't Halo, Gears, Left4Dead, Splinter Cell or Mass Effect. :lol Braid please! :p

uh ...you can't blame people for that , when Sony's very own Jeff Rubenstein and Atlus's Nich Maragos , didn't know that Demon's soul is owned completely by Sony and it " probably " won't leave PS3 , then you can't blame random Gaffers for this .

I mean Halo?

That's a Microsoft-funded title.

Fixed. The fact it's Microsoft-published doesn't mean jackshit if the IP is not theirs, which is the case here. The fact they funded the whole project does.

Ace Combat or Beautiful Kamatari

well , Katamari Forever is coming for PS3 you should know that ( out in japan today ), and btw Beautiful Kamatari is the worst game of the series out there , so no need for it .

and it will be sad if it Ace Combat 6 ( 2007 title ) instead of new Ace Combat .

wrong , sorry .

Remedy own the IP , sure , but Microsoft still own the publishing rights for the title .

just like Goldeneye 64 , Nintendo own the publishing rights for it and by that no one can have it , no activision or Microsoft .

another example , Sony don't own Crash IP , but own the publishing rights for Crash 1/2/3/nitro so no one can port the games to XBLA or other platforms even if Activision ( IP owner want to ) .

unless it was completely remake with new title like " something something Sigma " the publisher will still have right to the title , so yeah it mean a lot .

A million seller is NOT a niche title.

STAR OCEAN 4

- TGS is two months away. That's the ideal place to announce such a thing.
- Do you actually think tri-Ace would go to nofi's site and tell em to keep the mouth shut about it?

Can't wait for Alan Wake Sigma.

In most cases, you'd be correct. In this particular instance, thesixthaxis makes specific mention of the game not being Microsoft-published, so the fact that Alan Wake is Microsoft-published does mean something. Of course, so does the fact that they mentioned Alan Wake specifically by name. :D Anyways, doesn't really matter.

I hope it's Braid. It's definitely got a PSN-vibe to it. I'm trying to think what other 360 exclusives are considered niche. It could be one of the many JRPG's, but in most cases, we already know that they are coming (Tales) or don't want them to come. Braid is definitely what I'm hoping for.

Maybe we should post some XBox 360 niche titles? This way we don't have to confuse it with any other game. Nothing comes into my head at this time though.

It has to be popular and niche at the same time.. :S

Someone on another forum suggested it might be an announcement for the localization of Tales of Vesperia... which is a niche game but did receive a lot of praise.

This conversation can't really proceed if they don't tell us if it's a PSN title or a retail one.

Seriously, how could saying that be considered "breaking a promise"?

But it was already announced for the PS3 in Japan, why would they stay hush about localization?

If that's true I'll double dip.

That's the most likely outcome. I'd be happy with that, myself. I want official confirmation about the game coming here so I can buy it again. Hope they do another CE for it, too.

Cause it's Namco...? I don't know. They took a bit to announce Eternal Sonata's US release too.

We don't really know how that works, but there might actually be sort of a clause which states that Namco has to keep silent about localization/porting for x-amount of time. Considering Vesperia got released in the States in August -almost one year ago-, the timing kind of feels right.

I wish, but I doubt it's ToV anyway.

What I am trying to say the game is already announced for the PS3 the title reads Exclusive: PS3 To Pick Up 360 Title that would not make sense since its longer just a 360 title already.

True, but it's still technically 360 only in US/EU.

But that's only for Japan so far.

Maybe it's N3.

I hate these announcements of announcements...always turns into 10 page threads about Halo or Gears and then it's some bargain bin game no one cares about.

They could be referring internationally, perhaps.

If not, it must be something pretty similar, as MS has the rights to nearly every other top 360 games. Maybe Star Ocean 4? I hope not, I just bought it on the 360, and I'm a gigantic sap for enhanced ports..

Niche, Popular, 360 Exclusive?

Dead Or Alive Xtreme Sigma 2?
I think the next DOA and DOAX will be multiplatform. Tecmo seems more interested in developing games on PS3 than on 360 lately.
It's a good guess but they now say "a title that was previously an Xbox 360 console exclusive", so it should be a title also available on PC (I'm referring to the use of "console exclusive" instead of "exclusive"). Or maybe I'm reading that in a wrong way.

Initially, in TSA's first post about this, they said Xbox 360 favorite. They already said no to Mass Effect and Left 4 Dead, so here's a list of my possibilities:

  • Dead or Alive (Tecmo's recent love towards the PS3 may suggest this)
  • Dead Rising (would make sense since the second game's coming to PS3, maybe PS3 owners want to know what happens in the first)
  • Star Ocean: The Last Hope (not really an Xbox 360 favorite, but this comes to mind when you think of 360 RPGs, well next to Lost Odyssey)

Other than that, I really don't know. I'm clueless. =\

I hate to straw-hat this, but the blogger does mention that they were sitting on it since April, and that's when Tales of Vesperia did get publicly announced to be released for the PS3.

At least in Japan..

Whilst we can’t reveal any specifics right now, we can now reveal that the PlayStation 3 will play host to a popular 360 favourite. The title, which has to remain under wraps with us for the time being, will be released towards the end of the year. We’ve been promised more information in roughly a month’s time, at which point we’ll be able to share the specifics, first.

Geometry Wars!
