I'm online, though, the PlayStation Store loads and I can buy shit... the fuck is this?

Try restoring your licenses in account settings on the PS4. Should do the trick as this has happened to me a couple times randomly and that fixed it.

Is this something related to owning multiple consoles or being on different consoles and game sharing?

I got nothing except to make it your primary console and maybe rebuild database if nothing else works.

Edit: oh there's a license feature in the options, that's probably why better than what I suggested.

If the PS4 is set as your primary, I think verifying your licenses under options will solve the issue.

Yeah, was gonna buy something on PSN and it kept saying I had the wrong CC info. Went and bought a pre-paid card and when I was gonna add it the site said there was a maintenance going on.

So now I guess I know why it errored out on me about the CC info at least.

I've never known maintenance to do this before. Maybe it has and I just never noticed it. If that PS4 is set as your main PS4, then license should not be locked. What if you wanted to play offline? If that is your home PS4 then license should not be affected.

Your brothers console must be set as YOUR primary console so he can play games with his account.

Your console requires you to be logged into PSN to access the games.

I'm familiar with the concept, I do it on Xbox too.
I know I gotta be online to play my own digital games, since it needs to use the account license and not console license to authenticate.

I'm having the same issue, OP.

I have 2 consoles, 1 for my kids that has a lot of my indie games on and some kid games too. The other console is mine.
I have to set my kid's ps4 as prime because I buy all of the games via my account and download them to their ps4.

I can't activate my PS4 as prime now, because PSN is down.
There should be a game sharing option for digital games when you have 2 consoles on the same network.

Always good to see an old thread that answers your problem. Had this issue last night (on a non-primary) so glad to see it was the servers and not due to the external HDD I only added one day previously.
