It didn't exactly blow me away but as you get to dissect the design, see it properly, get all the angles and play with the 3D on SketchFab it really reveals a lot of fantastic touches and nuances. It has the right overall colour scheme, no eye-popping grey disc tray and the little lines and what appears to be LED running down looks classy. Especially when vertical and you see how the slant makes it look like two skyline buildings, it really takes you back. Great proportions.

Yeah, I feel the same. I didn't like it all that much at first, but it really has grown on me. Lots of interesting design touches without being overdone, and very small considering the hardware.

why did they have to angle it?

I'd assume because it makes the overall shape much more interesting.

We saw it, we touch it and it's a lot more beautiful in real life than in a simple photo. I don't know how much handy have the usb and the main port in the middle of the console in such small space, but probably the usb port are more practical compared to the ps3 one.

Yeah it's quite nice looking. I have extremely limited apartment space so I'm happy it's small and sleek. I also am very glad that it has a flat top as I will keep it on top of my desktop PC tower, and can leave my headphones or a flash drive or a cup of easy-to-spill coffee on top of it...

Actually more than likely I will keep the PS3 on top of it and have both hooked up in a nice tight little space.

I really do like the design, it's quite pretty IMO. I'm hoping it's silent though. If it isn't I would have been willing to put up with a bigger (and maybe uglier) box just to keep it quiet.

By the way I hope it can vent well, I've seen it the back of the PS4 and I'm wondering if it is enough considering that the PS4 is more powerful. Is it okay?

Aren't Sony famous for releasing a myriad of colours and designs for Playstation? So if you don't like it in black I'm sure there will be a colour to suit you eventually.

I like the design though. I like XB1 one better because I dislike the 'slant' of the PS4, but it won't bother me all that much. I just like simplistic stuff. The days of colorful plastic shit are gone.

I just wish it wasn't made out of that same cheap looking textured plastic as the old PS3 slim. If it actually looked as smooth as those renders in the OP and was also fully matte (no two-tone glossy bullshit) then I would like it more.

Yeah, the design grew on me. It think it's quite elegant and subtle. And that's all I want from a box that will disapear in my entertainment setup. I just hope that the light's are not to bright.

Honestly, when it comes to size I would prefer the Xbone. More size usually means bigger fans which usually mean less noise. Let's see how this turns out.

I really like the industrial design of both the Xbox One and the PS4. Both look very adult, nice clean lines, lots of grills and lots of black. I'm happy with both.

The PS4 is the slightly more interesting design, while the Xbox looks to be using more premium materials. Both cameras look sexy as hell too.

While it looks like a cross between Wii and PS2slim, i love it very much! Very contemporary Love the air vents. Thank the gods Sony also cut down on the gloss.

I hope pc casing makers like silverstone can release a clone of it for itx.
