PS4 designer discusses the outward appearance of the console

Controller is meant to be dual colored. That's why the black on black looks so bleh.

Nice. I hadn't noticed how the black appears to be sort of two toned (I don't know if that is intentional). That red controller looks amazing though, so hopefully they can get some colors out sometime near launch.

What are you talking about? It's the same as the OG PS3 Slim only a little more hidden. Here's a front view of the PS4, as you can see, once you actually get a PS4 in your hands in shouldn't be a problem. This is Sony we're talking about here.

I actually see it as an improvement from the PS3 which had its USB slots on the bottom left corner which was hard to plug into. Now with PS4 its on the middle right which should be easier to plug into IMO.

Ps3s usb locations are bad too, I tend to leave the cords attached so I don't have to find where it plugs in at. With where ps4 is going to sit on my shelf I can't leave the cords plugged in, I can forsee myself sliding a usb plug back and forth in that deathstar canyon trying to find the hole. I'm waiting for a redesign.

I think looks really good but not put-it-in-a-glass-case-good. What I do love is that it is low profile, not too gawdy "simplicity with flare" and no power brick (based on what I've heard). The camera has that same design language but even simpler. I really don't like the look of the DS4 but I am 99.9% more interested in its function.

So you are not buying a ps4 because of its USB plug placement ?

Now I have heard it all.

Buy the charge cradle, it's about £25 and would fix your issues as you could stick it out of the way somewhere.

It's truly a great looking console but the one thing that irks me is the little white playstation decal on the glossy panel. It would be completely clean and slick if that were removed. Controller is kinda fugly and slapped together looking tbh.

To me it looks even better than those Sony spaceship BluRay players they had the last years. And I like the controller design a lot more than the old one. I'm not sure about the red and blue ones though, need to see them in front of me.

I'm more interested in how quiet/effective the APU cooling solution is than how cool the outside looks.

It is a nice looking case, though, and the colored versions of the controller look great.

Mine's gonna look awesome with double sided tape all over the top to prevent my cats from sleeping on it.

I love it. I am in love. I don't even know what game I want I've just got to touch it some more.

If they offered it in white, it would look almost perfect.

Still not sold completely on the design, I am very OCD'ish on symmetry though so that off center line kills me.

Put it vertical.
