Lol. That is ridiculous. You make an investment in the hopes that the vested property increases in "real" net value, over time. By "real", I mean that it can be traded to others parties who will pay more for your exact property, at some future time.
This will obviously not ever be the case, with either consoles. A used console will only depreciate, and the future price for a "new" console will inevitably go down.
Perhaps you mean that you are taking a holistic approach, and looking at the subjective, personal value of the console, especially when it's "must have" game library improves.
In which case...it still doesn't matter. If someone is not crazy about the launch titles (for either system)...it makes a lot of sense to postpone the purchase until such a time. Furthermore, there is always the potential that the MSRP will either be reduced...and/or additional incentives (bundles, coupons/bonuses, etc.) may be attached. I don't think there is ever been a precedent in which a gaming console actually increased in MSRP over time...but I suppose I could be wrong.

I think the refresh thing only works if they are still in the process of putting the item up... (before it said "available from sellers for 399.99~" even when it wasn't in stock yet, but now it only lists the 849.99 price)
