PS4 Supports Move, But Not the DS3

Figured it wouldn't with the new additions. No big deal. I have a feeling the trackpad and LED bar will also knock third party controller manufacturers out of the market for PS4 as well.

I suppose they don't want to fragment the controller options into having to support "touchpad" and "non-touchpad". Still sucks though.

Sucks, but makes sense.

I hope it supports arcade sticks and steering wheels such as the Logitech G27 though.

Thats disappointing. I assume they also mean the navigation controller works too, which means they're actually trying to not make the DS3 work.

I don't see how anyone would even want to use the DS3 after they get a DS4.
I dont really care what player 2-4 use. Would be nice to save $50.

Who cares about DS3. They pretty clearly said this thing has new radios in it for less lag, so I kinda expected this.

The real question is "Will it support the G27."

I'm guessing "yes," but we need this confirmed soon by the DriveClub guys...

Makes sense. Reducing controller latency is a big thing for Sony, and they don't want PS3 hardware mucking that up.

That and they can make a killer from marking up the controller.

Consider me dual shocked.
I know how awful that sounds but I couldn't help it

DS3 won't have all the extra goodies of a DS4 which may be problematic in many situations. But I think it was partly done to also drive up sales of the DS4.

well, the only time I can recall using previous controllers was ps1 stuff on ps2 and GameCube on Wii

Oh, and wii on Wii u

Not a huge surprise. Besides, that new controller looks better than a ds3 :)

Because they have plenty of DualShocks just lying around and don't want to fork out $60+ per new controller?

4 player party games during the holidays when i have relatives coming over....i'm not buying 4 new controllers, one extra tops. We'll have to play another system at christmas :( , though it's not like anyone wants to play killzone multi splitscreen this year.

Really shitty news for people that have more than 1 PS3 controller. Thankfully this news doesn't affect me that much, but I feel for those that have like 3 or more controllers.

Sony needs to recoup console losses with these sure to be $70 controllers, and they also don't want to have to support three control methods.

It's very interesting, these new expectations of gamers.

"Hey, did you get the DreamCast?" I didn't because it can't play Saturn games or use a Saturn controller."

Thank god, I haven't gotten enough use out of my Move controllers. Hopefully the new Killzone supports move.

Well that sucks, but was expected. However the DualShock 4 already appears to be a much better and ergonomic controller, so its not so bad.

Well after you've bought 4 controllers for several systems in a row, you are not amused by new console shenanigans.

indeed annoying since the additions are a touch pad, a light and a headset jack. Not sure why my mates couldn't use DS3s for our 4 player Fifa games.

Never mind.

Duh? This happened all the fucking time. DS2 was not compatible with DS3, and DS1 was not compatible with DS2.

I thought both did? you needed an adapter for the DS2 - PS3 though obviously.
