Makes sense. Reducing controller latency is a big thing for Sony, and they don't want PS3 hardware mucking that up.

DS3 won't have all the extra goodies of a DS4 which may be problematic in many situations. But I think it was partly done to also drive up sales of the DS4.

4 player party games during the holidays when i have relatives coming over....i'm not buying 4 new controllers, one extra tops. We'll have to play another system at christmas , though it's not like anyone wants to play killzone multi splitscreen this year.
