PS4 up for preorder in Mexico $450 USD

Right, MS was doing great in this regard like three years ago, their first party games were cheaper than Nintendo and PS but something happened and they went back to normal $80 something for games.

I think as a presence Sony has made the most at least here in Mexico, the guy that runs the latin american ps blog is a personal friend of mine actually.

MS shut down their fabric in Mexico so thats why the prices go up and screw us in the process

So MexiGaf is this just temporary? I live in Chihuahua so I normally go to El Paso, Texas to get my gaming fix because pricing.

But I might get this here or the 9-month no interest payment option.

I'm actually on my way to El Paso right now, will get some 3DS games!

Yeah, NoA's support for México sucks. Wii u is hilariously expensive. Then again I also remember PS3 costing circa $800 usd on launch day.

That's because 'cause i think there's no official representation of Nintendo (neither from Sony); Xbox is the only one with some kind of official channel here, and their stuff is cheaper and easier to get.

Mexico is xbox territory. just log into Gears and find out.

And Fifa territory too. Hopefully, this PS4 price is the beginning for a better support in our territory. Sometimes even finding a MEX PSN card (ouside capital city) is hard to do. Geez, even using a Credit Card in the Mexico PS Store is a hassle.

Not only will Sony dominate the European and Asian markets, they will dominate the Latin American market as well.

Basically, Sony will dominate globally and even pose a HUGE threat to M$'s "grasp" in the US.

4>1.

I mean, for fuck's sake, this is pretty much how Nintendo of Mexico looks like: http://www.esmas.com/clubnintendo/

No one has used EsMas in maybe 10 effing years.

That club nintendo magazine is awful, read it last month and it still felt like a magazine from the 90's.

Glad that PS4 price is sane in Mexico, though I live in the States., it's absolutely ridicolous how much they overcharge, know a couple of cousins who will be happy about this.

What in the fuck?

Mexican prices are that fucking awful.

Although that only seems to be because of a temporary sale exclusive for members.

Normal prices though
Wii U 4500/5500 pesos = $350~(basic)/$420~ (deluxe)
PS4 7500 pesos = $570~
XB1 8500 pesos = $650~

Mexico is xbox territory. just log into Gears and find out.

I can assure you that's pretty much 100% because of piracy though.

Piracy plays a role for sure, but Mexico really loves shooters. Like, REALLY loves them. Our competitive fighting game communities are rather small in comparison, for example, and the loudest cheers went to Halo music when Video Games Live came to Mexico City in 2011. Honestly I can't find any sources but a local magazine stated that over here 360 stomped all over Wii and PS3 (and apparently PSP stomped all over DS) - I wish I could find the real numbers to see if this is true.

I can vouch for that =.=

Although I'm pretty sure that applies everywhere.

Also, I'm pretty sure that even if that PSP data was right, it could've only been at the beginning of the generation. Seriously I don't think I've seen anyone with a PSP besides my classmates in forever.

I am from Sonora and study at Phoenix, AZ; and my family goes often for shopping, yes.

I will agree that most of the rep Mexico has with the XBOX is almost just because of Halo alone. Gears too, but not THAT much.

It's only for the weekend, I say go for it.

I live in Monterrey so I was planning on getting this at McAllen or Laredo. But with only a $50 differential and being covered by a local warranty, this is a no brainer for me.

wat

how is it that cheap

I honestly don't know how easy or how hard it is to do this on XBOX360. Is it as easy as the Dreamcast?

That is irrelevant when there are multiple easy to find stores that will mod the console for you and/or outright sell modded consoles. I assure you all those parents giving modded consoles to their children on Christmas didn't do it themselves.

Mexico rips off their gamers
I feel like the retailers chage whatever they want and no one says or does anything
A couple years back the most recent FIFA title translated to around 90 dollars

Right now my local Wal-Mart has the gaming masterpiece known as Sonic and the Black Knight for only $1049 MXN / $81 USD.

Without official representatives from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft I think there's nothing gamers can do about it.
PROFECO, an institution in pro of consumer rights only will be like... you don't like it? then don't buy it.

I am from Mexico, and videogame prices are known to be ridiculously more expensive here, especially in Liverpool. i.e., some 3DS games cost about 70 dollars or so rather than 40.

That's actually cheaper than I would expect. Not bad.

Wait, there's a Liverpool in Mexico?!

Megatón if true.

As a Mexican, though, I'm awaiting to see the Brazilian price (just for kicks). Besides I've lost faith on Mexican retailing (unpunctual preorders, late arrivals; fuck that, thanks for e-stores).

Aww damn, so it's just for this weekend... Guess I'll have to pass on this one, but it's a pretty damn good price for those getting it. I think the games are a bigger problem, though. That's why I end up getting everything from the US.

So I went to the store and preordered it. The guy there said they expect the launch for the last week of october or the first week of november.

I just preordered mine on the phone, the rep told me it is scheduled for release by the end of november, i guess the actual date is no set in stone but i'm happy i will have it for "cheap" and in small paymets lol.

Just got home from the store.
Last week of November is the expected release date.
Regular price is MX$7300 [US$562], which is the same price as the Wii U Deluxe (Xbone is MX$8500, so US$654).
The $450 price is only because a special Sony promotion (all Sony products are 20% off).

I pre-ordered one (the $13 dollars difference isn't worth the trip, even though I live relatively near the border).
The pre-orders started yesterday. 2 were sold last night, 2 more this morning and I just paid for one, so I am number 5 out of 10 [this store is only getting 10 units].

Liverpool is our own Sears. We also have Sears, though.
Sears parent company in USA sold all its Mexican shares to Carlos Slim, so they aren't really the same department store family anymore (they only share the logo/brand name and that's it).
Mexican Liverpool and Sears are more like Macy's or Bloomingdale's, which I think are of a different type [or style] of department stores [at least from the ones I have visited in USA].

How is it up for pre-order in so many places. I'm really curious about how the supply is going to end up looking like in November.

Believe, Xbone in Brasil is US$ 980. It is cheaper get a fly to US and buy a pair over there than purchase Thaís shirt in Brasil.
