That first picture's a bit disingenuous though. Whoever's put that together has included the stand and that looks like it adds a couple of inches to it's height. It's still a beefy looking machine but that picture's deceptive.

Its also significantly longer.

Longer doesn't matter much when it's on it's side, I don't know if that stand will be required for the digital version or not, it may be an accessory they sell but it may not be needed.

My first reaction was very positive as was my wife's. We both immediately commented that if they are less powerful than XseX they did well to design something more eye catching.

That said, Sonys reveal hid the actual size of this thing well. I didn't realize how big this fuckin thing is until I came to this thread. Holy shit. I have an atypically large entertainment center with fairly tall shelving units with plenty of space between each shelf (containing numerous consoles and an HTPC as well as a center channel for a speaker all beneath my 4Ktv). So, I don't expect to have any trouble fitting the XseX in there sideways. But the PS5 will actually be somewhat of a challenge due to its width when laid sideways. I'll have to shift stuff around. This thing is massive and sort of awkward to lay down.

And, although I do like it's futuristic design it isn't going to blend in with the rest of my entertainment center which may annoy me a tad. It's definitely a conversation starter though, that's for sure.

Many, if not most, people will have their console flat in a entertainment unit under their TV and this will be an issue for some with the Series X whereas the PS5 is no taller than the PS3 phat.

XBox is 15x15x30cm. PS5 is around 40x9cm. I assumed standard depth of any other console (it don't look shalow like XSX), which is ~25cm.

Its almost hard to grasp just how giant this thing is until you think about one of the consoles you own, then compare with that picture. If this is accurate the thing is an absolute monster.

With that said, I really dont care if thats what it takes to keep it cool and quiet.
