It's more like 3 1/4", plus the fact that the system appears to be about 10-11" deep. It's two inches dude, I know someone may have told you that's big..

Its volume is less than the Series Xits volume is almost twice that of the PS4 pro according to the rough measurements people have done, and 1/3 bigger than the Series X

I'm not seeing the deal
Now I've took those images and set them by their dimensions, not sure how whoever made this comparison manage to get the sizes they did when they used the USB and disc drives as a point of reference
I also removed the added stand height
as the feet are missing off XSX

And here's EG comparison from not long ago

Which means this has every Xbox and the original PS3 smaller then it actually is

It doesn't look twice the depthHow do you figure? It looks to be about twice the depth and longer. You're missing a bit in width that's it.
The volume is not even close, the Series X volume is 418". I think you greatly underestimate how small it actually is, it's only 5.94"x5.94"x11.85".Its volume is less than the Series X
You can't just remove the stand height because the fact is we don't know how it interacts with the system. Is it integral to the vertical cooling? Is the system incredibly unstable without it?And the original PS4 was 10.8" w 12" d

That's because I've used the image from before and set each one base on their actual dimensionsIn your first pic the PS5 drive slot (red line) is shorter than the XSX though...
Hey I thought you wanted a straight from bottom to top comparison. You can't just remove the stand height because the fact is we don't know how it interacts with the system. Is it integral to the vertical cooling? Is the system incredibly unstable without it?
You don't get to pick and choose, its intended configuration is with the stand so that is what you measure by.
I refuse to believe it's that gigantic until I see an actual physical unit. The different renders don't really seem to have the same scale or something? And the original PS4 was 10.8" w 12" d

Yeah it is big but people are over exaggerating

Imagine how gigantic the packaging is going to be lol. Biggest console ever, biggest box ever...I plan on moving in September, so at least I can get a place with housing the PS5 in it in mind. Just need to make sure it can fit through...the door...hmmm.
I don't know my PS4 box was actually bigger than my PS3 oneImagine how gigantic the packaging is going to be lol. Biggest console ever, biggest box ever...
Some people have wifes and eyes. Why all of a sudden are gamers giving a shit about how big a console is? I wouldn't care if it were the size of my couch I'd throw a pillow on that shit and game on.
I know the bolded is a typo, but now I want a loving room in my house.I think the thing is too big and too reminiscent of a Flashy gaming PC. (I already have one of those).
I'm going to wait for a slim version as I don't think the trade off in graphics is worth finding a place for that in the loving room.
Quite disappointed with what has been shown so far. I'm a big Sony fan but it's clearly got to the point where console makers are bending over backwards (with the massive increase in size here) for what is very little gain.
I'm starting to see where Stadia gains traction now, when you're up against a boak case like that Stadia looks more and more attractive.
It's not a typo.I know the bolded is a typo, but now I want a loving room in my house.
This thing is bigger than the original fat PS3. That is impressive, and not in a good way.
I don't know if anyone remember the original fat PS3, but that thing was big, loud, and heavy. If I remember correctly, it was notorious for overheating despite being big, loud and heavy. This is not a good look for Sony especially after the PS4.
Nah, PS2 is beautiful.
Taking the controller by reference (around the same size) then the PS4 looks way bigger with these 27.5cm.40 seems about right (without stand) but the 20cm? The XSX is 30 x 18 x 18. The limited side on views are deceptive but from my perspective analysis the PS5 will be closer to 40 x 25 x 6 (with the disc)
XSX is bigger from what I can see.Xbox team just did a better job, that's a fact.
XSX is smaller, more powerful and, possibly, cost the same to make or, even less, than the PS5.
What crazy math and FUD.It really doesn't matter how this image pans out, it's the largest console ever created with more volume than the Series X. Even if some of the measurements are a bit off that wouldn't change its positioning in any meaningful capacity.
The Series X volume is 418 inches, the PlayStation 5's volume is between 530-560 inches. It's absolutely gigantic.
I think it's a little misleading that only take the shortest width for the PS5. You should do it like this:
I mean, you still need this width at the base, otherwise you can't put your PS5 there, you can't put the PS5 up-side down, so the width at the bottom is the most important part.
Exactly it is less depth than PS4 (27.5cm / 10.8 inches). It doesn't look twice the depth

Look at the controller size. Twice the depth would need to be two controls.
The "Pro" version will be named Leviathan, and I won't accept it any other way.Enough with calling it PS5. Now onwards is The Behemoth.
Some people have wifes and eyes.
This thing is really slick.
It's SONY's best interest to get the PS5's in public to take it off the hot seat, if they're sticking with this shy guy stuff it's just criminal to their fanbase.
Nah, I don't see anyone with a legitimate interest in the system being so hung up over it. As per usual its salty platform warriors trying to make it a thing.
Sony have evidently learned their lesson, they simply don't engage and let the controversy fizzle out. Its the playbook they've been running all gen long and its been working flawlessly.
Are you using google translate to translate a foreign language and then posting? It's SONY's best interest to get the PS5's in public to take it off the hot seat, if they're sticking with this shy guy stuff it's just criminal to their fanbase.
Of course they have different contours so you would need a different base for good stability.Wait different stand for different Version?
It looks like its the vertical stand rotated 90degrees for the horizontal position (lower part to the front in vertical, lower part to left in horizontal). Thats why the top of the stand is sculpted to fit the curved surface and why the digital one is much flatter. I dunno if it just sits on it or it slots in, I don't think they're shown the right side of the case to see if theres any notches.Hold up a minute. It needs a stand to lay flat?
Hmmmm interesting analysis guys, so the Xbox people say it's massive while Sony people say it's not as big as some people think........that clears everything up!
C'mom somy release the actual size for some us to prepare a spot
