Well original Xbox, PS3 and original Xbox One are too big to fill the comparison pics.
PS3: 27.4 x 32.5 x 9.8 cm = 8726 cm3
XB: 26 x 32 x 10 cm = 8320 cm3

What are the specs?
Just listing the basics it's running an Intel core i7 9700k, an MSI MPG Z390 gaming mobo, an Asus 2070 Super 8gb, 32 gb of ddr4 3400 ram and a samsung 970 evo m.2 drive.
The ram is overkill for now I know but I did some upgrading a few months back and decided to "futureproof." Just wish I had gone with a 2080 but Im sure this will get me through gen 9. And this is the main reason I wont be getting a series X. Gamepass on pc is just too convenient.

Nah. The Pro is terrible looking. And the SX is another boring usual black square shaped box. The PS5 actually looks like something new and fresh.

I've played with paint a bit, and IMO the console would look much better if it was something like this:
Remain the curves, remain the white-black color theme, just make it more symmetrical.
And where will all the hot air go ?

That's the crappy 3D render that has been flying around lately, the dimension and design of the system are off a bit, so I would take the 3D rendering in that video with a grain of salt.

It is smaller than PS3, OG Xbox and XB1.
The digital model is probably smaller than Series X too.

It is, if it wasn't people wouldn't say that, and weren't so concerned where and how to put it, or if they have enough space for it to begin with. Counting volume like you do is like saying that LG 65" Wallpaper OLED is super tiny because it's just 3.3L...

Even if, not by a large margin, and those consoles were huge already. It's like Hummer H1 vs H2 - sure, the H2 is smaller, but it still can barely fit the roads. I think the X1X set the bar/expectations very high for the next-gen consoles, but it is what it is, maybe PS5/XBX slim models will have a better footprint and more appealing aesthetics.

Well it's not like they are going to change it, so there is only one option , like.Its growing on meI wish it was a bit smaller with an external power brick but as long as it delivers amazing games I will be fine.
Not my fav. PlayStation console so I went from ''meh'' to I accept it.
I still think it's terrible for Sony standards. Which uses black for class on Basically all their devices and in their branding.

I don't see why the playstation fanatics are defending the size so much and saying every mok up is fake etc, just embrace it and the narrative will change.
It does seem very close to the mok ups that people are doing anyway so you'll all have egg on your face when the system gets in depth size comparison videos at launch or whdn the YouTube lot get hold of them.
I'm definitely buying one when an all black version comes out to go along side the xbox series x and my big ass pc.

The fact that Sony hasn't come out and shared the dimensions should tell you enough. It's huge and they first want something else taking the spotlight before they mention how huge it actually is.

LOL, I'd have to remove one of the shelves (there's one on the left side too) of my media cabinet in order to fit a PS5 that's in its upright position. I think I'd have to do the same for the XSX.

Just to be clear, (going off that chart) you can just about fit the PS5 within the XSX:
Except Sony have made it long rather than wide.
Probably so that, you know, it can actually fit into one of these things...
