PSA: Premium WIIU + Zombiu £199

Ok, the previous price drops and bundles didn't faze me, but this one kinda hurts. I'll take the difference in Gamepad-ready eShop copies of REmake and Killer7 and the rest in SNES games as apology, Nintendo.

It really is disgustingly good value though. Any non Wii U-owning videogame fan who can comfortably afford to snap it up and doesn't should rethink their hobby.

I can imagine this to be very unpleasant for early adopters regardless of whether it is an 'inofficial' cut or not.

welp, i feel bad for people who went in for it day 1.
Probably sounds harsh but I can't say I do. They considered it to be worth that value. From the initial reaction it really didn't look like the sure-fire hit that the Wii was, and frankly you could see the desperate price drops coming a mile off.

It's annoying, but I was more than happy paying the full price at launch, and I've gotten my money's worth. If anything, I'm glad that more Wii Us will now get into the hands of dilly-dallying potential buyers, even if it is a short-term, desperate act of an ailing retailer.

Fuck sakes Nintendo, I was trying to wait until it actually had more than 2/3 games I wanted. But at this price... It's only £30 more than my 3DS XL was!

Very good price, I only got my Wii U at launch because I went half and half with my family for my birthday (so got the ZombiU bundle for £150). That's definitely the level that bundle should be set at, with the standard premium around £170. Hard to imagine it going any lower, but given how non-existent demand is right now, you never know...

EDIT: And obviously I back the calls for an Ambassador program. Even if these price cuts aren't official, it's Nintendo's fault they're happening, so people who shelled out top whack only five months ago should be given something back out of common courtesy. Nintendo Direct soon please.

Good deal.

Still don't feel too bad as I took advantage of Amazon UK's mistaken £199 deal.

Console not selling as well as expected + dying retailer.

This is a STEAL*. Great bundle.

* maybe not as much as the typical Gaffer would want, but I don't care

you know, if this was $250 in the us, i might actually go for it. then i think about this holiday, b2g1f deals, and how the system might get bundled with something i actually want at a lower price.

still tempting though.

My situation as well. The deal is nuts though. I was at Game seeing the 3DSXL Bundles, the cheapest being £149. For only 50 more u get a fucking new console O_o
It's really not that great a deal when compared against what the Wii launched at. The Wii launched at £179 and came with a system seller game, that was great value for money. The Wii U UK pricing was all kinds of fucked up, it's no wonder no one was buying it.

I'm willing to wait for the premium to drop to less than £150 though, I can even do without Zombie U as it doesn't interest me.

until this hits ~£150 or there are decent games it still doesnt seem worth it to me.

also console needs to have entire Wii VC library online & playable on GamePad, GameCube and Wii games added to eShop too. Wii games also playable on gamepad (with custom controls as obv some games wouldnt work that require motion).

Well, they sold me a WiiU. I told myself I would wait until the premium was at 200 pounds, so...

Well, now I have a problem, I can't connect to my building's WiFi because it requires going to a login page, but the WiiU doesn't have a browser. Any way around this?

I'll wait until it's around £130, that's a price I'd be more willing to pay.

You want it to be LESS than the 360 and PS3 currently are, with MORE games, a tablet controller and a slightly better GPU CPU?

With Bayonetta on the horizon, 179.99, the Wii's original price, would be the sweet spot.

You want it to be LESS than the 360 and PS3 currently are, with WAY LESS games, a tablet controller and a slightly better GPU and slower CPU?

Fixed. There is nothing in the library that does it for me currently, it is not even worth the asking price of the current gen consoles and I just purchased a PS3 super slim as my previous one had ylod, didn't consider the wii u even once. Seeing as I don't care for ports, the exclusives are lacking and the upcoming exclusives are spaced out and still too few for me to be interested in paying for this thing. So, yes 130 would be a great price for me. Will get in the distant future for WW HD, pikmin 3, bayonetta 2 and whatever the next mario and zelda games are.

Edit: HMV is going out of business, right?

Sort of, not really. They're in administration (I believe the US equivalent is Chapter 11 bankrupcy), however they've got the company behind HMV Canada lining up to take them over. They'll probably pull a GAME and survive this with a vastly reduced number of stores.
