only on playstation network!!! Sony is really making PSN the hotness of downloadable games.

How come there is no thread on this?

Well, I wouldn't go that far, the PSN has some catching up to do.

On the trailer, or on the news of PSN exclusiveness?

Gamespot goes Hands-On with Bionic Commando Rearmed

http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/bioniccommandore/news.html?sid=6186417&mode=previews

Grin has added a ton of new features to the game that look like they'll enhance the entertainment value of this remake without impinging on its authenticity. There's now a two-player cooperative mode where the second player takes control of a red-suited version of Super Joe on the same screen as the first player. For the most part, the two characters will play separately, though you can launch your arm into the back of the other player to make him skid forward in a slide move that will get him underneath enemy bullets.

In co-op, the camera will zoom way out as you move farther apart from each other, and when you go too far, it will seamlessly switch over to a split-screen view, so you can effectively operate with complete independence in a given level. Interestingly, the game will split the screen horizontally or vertically depending on the layout of the level. Playing with a second player will also influence the behavior of some bosses, making their defeat more complicated.

Speaking of bosses, Capcom producer and professed BC nut Ben Judd admits that they were lousy in the original game, so the designers at Grin have gone back and added more creative and challenging boss encounters to the mission. We saw the first boss, called the beetle, which was a flying spheroid robot with various guns and shielding. The trick here was to grab a barrel with our bionic arm, hurl it at the beetle to drop it to the ground, then blast away at its exposed weak spot before it got back into the air. In the co-op version of this fight, the boss was able to move its shield around, making both players coordinate to throw barrels high and low to strike the right spot.

I cannot believe how great the US demo for Hot Shots Golf is... WOW!

Just WOW!

I fucking refuse to create a JAP or UK account to get the demo...

I know that is stupid to a lot of people... but I want the fucking US demo... and continue to watch movies on my PS3.

Little known fact: Did you know that they speak the same language in the UK as we do in the US?

PAIN DLC Coming today.

That's what ps3fanboy says.

If it's an entire new level and they somehow made it so that the original game and DLC bundled together were only $10, I'd pick it up.

I thought $10 for one level is too much. 2 levels seems like a much better value. From what I've heard, people have had a lot of fun with it, especially with local MP.

Oh yess! a demo of Monsters. I needed to try that game, it's interesting but i wouldn't buy it blindly (as i don't really like destok tower see)

Oh and i'm getting fast at the banner game, i found it in 1-2 seconds on each.

Might just be this:

- Character DLC: HungLow pack and Scurv Dogg pack

As I've been posting every week. I'm expecting 1 of these PS1 games every oher week or so. If the pattern continues, there should be one this week.

Castlevania Chronicles
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (up)
Jet Moto 3
Rayman
Street Fighter Alpha

That game has a Lumines feel to me, they parceled up the game to sell it piecemeal, instead of releasing a whole game then adding to it. I got "burned" (in quotes because I certainly got my money's worth) on Lumines, I'll wait for Pain to add some value. Hopefully this week is it.

Warped and Jet Moto 3 are both already up...aren't they?

I'd really love to see Street Fighter Alpha though!

I just hope the PAIN DLC isn't really expensive, I could handle a buck per level or something but it's bad enough we paid $10 for one (admittedly awesome) stage. Besides, I bought Cookie, they owe me.

I'm really hoping that Street Fighter Alpha is the next PS1 game, I used to have it but sold it and now want it back. Which is probably the first time I won't bitch about Sony always releasing games I already own (or once owned) on disc. :lol

Jet Moto 1 and 2, not 3 yet. And yeah, I just copy/pasted the listing I've been using and marked Crash 3 as being there. I'm guessing Moto 3 is up tonight.

from the pain blog

The good news is that if you are still with us then that update is right around the corner. Right around the corner like Thursday the 21st of Feb. This update includes the leader board reset (and the fix to the score exploit) It also includes the Free Single Player Fun With Explosives Mode and Hung Lo.

Pain still hasn't made it to the Euro store has it? Maybe I missed it. All the Sony websites said "coming early Feb to the Euro store" if I remember correctly.

Screw it, I'm going back to Warhawk.

How about that online play you promised, Pain developers?

In the Lab

Last time I spoke to you all I said that I would tell you what came out of the meetings we had with Idol Minds about the future landscape of PAIN. Coke and myself spent a solid week plotting content updates with the PAIN crew. So on a very high level here are the highlights:

Multiplayer
Since everyone told us we suck and need to have Multiplayer in PAIN we agreed. Modes like Horse, Fun With Explosives, Bowling will be playable for 1-4 players over the PSN. So no more posting about this gang. Message received. You can challenge other people across the net with our next Environment.

Replays
Originally our plans were to do a pretty advanced replay system. We decided to handle multiplayer first due to the amount of requests we got for multiplayer from you guys and the press. We will be doing Replay support (a very robust one) in the near future. When we have fully designed what we are doing here I will share.

New Modes
We agreed that in a new Environment there are PAIN skill sets that must be cultivated. Ooching, Throwing, Grabbing etc.. So although a mode might appear different in a new environment it will reinforce skills you have learned in other PAIN Environments.

New Gameplay Elements
Some multiplayer modes could have more interaction. Modes like Bowling are much more fun because the players who are not being launched can be foiled by the other players… elements like….

Pimp Slapping
Should be in every videogame. But since we are only in control of PAIN it should be in PAIN. There is nothing quite a PAINful as a pimphand. And a pimp slap is funnier when it has baby powder attached to it. It's also very important to keep said hand strong.

who knows when we'll actually get any of that though. i'd just like the amusement park right now.

Home session @ GDC (just for devs mainly) starts in 3 hours 15 min. I'm going to bed but if anyone could get any info out of that it would be nice.

How much do you guys think Wipeout HD is gonna cost? if its 20$ I'm all in

My guess is $25, I hope it's not higher than that. I fear it though given how much they're charging for GT Prologue.

I'd say $40 for Wipeout HD. With all the racing league support, online multi-player, stat keeping and number of courses, I'd say it's as substantial as WarHawk or GT5: Prologue and probably more so than the latter.

It will be $39.99 I reckon.

It's on par with Warhawk in terms of content and like that title it's obviously a really thorough higher budget title with really good graphics, licensed music tracks, multiple game modes..etc..etc (and unlike Warhawk it has a singleplayer part I reckon).

I hope people will actually play online with Pain.

Add-on online makes the pickings slimmer.

Tekken DR online is dead.
