A triple negative? I don't not disunderstand this...

Anyway...impressions of the Nucleus demo...

1. The demo is 141 megabytes
2. It's some really weird hybrid of mostly English and some Japanese.
3. Demo is 2 player if you have two SIXAXIS controllers on...co-op appears (at first glance) to work better than stardust
4. Playable area is mostly fixed like Geo Wars (but that could just be the first map
5. The stuff you shoot/move in the first level can't kill you...it's just you vs. the clock to destroy or move everything (I'm not really sure which). If the clock expires, you die (again, this could vary per map)
6. Graphics/framerate so far are ridiculously bad. With Geo Wars, Blast Factor, and Stardust out there, this looks pathetic (once again though, this could vary with level)
7. Bombs are mapped to L2 and turbo is L1...the turbo kinda just bumps and moves things...doesn't destroy them
8. R1 does nothing I think...R2 grabs stuff with an energy beam which you can use to drag the "enemies(?)" around
9. The "enemies" stick together...maybe you're supposed to mold them into something or positon them a certain way (not enough English in the right places to know for sure)
10. I'm about 80% sure this game sucks something fierce (with a 20% chance that I'm missing something that could actually make me care). It's no Stardust...that's for sure.

EDIT 1: Ok, now it seems like you're supposed to collect all the powerups before time runs out...that let me progress to the next stage...Impressions coming in "EDIT 2"

EDIT 2: Nevermind...I don't know what the hell is going on. The game seems likely to really suck but I could be wrong. If anyone can describe the goals of the game, it might help.

Stuff will probably be pretty dang underwhelming this week thanks to the awesomeness of last week and the extreme awesomeness of E3 next week.

Can the first post just say this everytime there's a big event due soon? There's no way Sony would give us stuff this week when they've got a megaton-lorry just waiting to offload the Good Stuff at E3.

Nucleus is fun, but right now, I don't understand the level descriptions / mission info due to Japanese text, but in that first level (the middle one in the menu, with the glowing things you need to collect) I scored grade/ A- score/ 354399.

In the second level (the bottom one) I now have to collect all those frog egg thingies in a rotating ring, which has about a quarter missing, which is the entry into that ring.
Pretty tricky.
Scored grade/ B score/ 403053 in that one.

Third level, the top one, is the most difficult one, it has enemies. Pretty tough enemies. They multiply, first there's one, before you know it, there are a hundred. :/
Damn, it's hard! You can shoot them (right stick), and activate some kind of explosion that kills all of them in your area, but they multiply fast and you can hide behind the frog eggs at first, but they start coming from all directions eventually.
grade/ D score/ 145490... :(

Interesting game, seems a little simple and/or boring at first, but it's probably a tough game in most levels.
Graphically, it's good, some levels have explosions, but overall, it's nothing that makes you go wow.
Controlls are decent, but no motion-sensing. Not that I know of.

The only good thing I could say about the Nucleus demo is that it has italian text. Game wasn't that fun for me and I can see why it was scored badly in some reviews.

Yeah.. not interested. I guess it's a original concept trying to barricade yourself with cells and stuff to keep hostiles away but it all seems so unpolished and slow & choppy.

okay, what i said was

i dont have to worry about

downloading nothing

like i usually don't

meaning i dont have worry about not having to download anything from the store cause there usually isn't anything for me to download so i dont even have to visit the PS Store this week

There is now 3 games of the same genre on the PSN.
Don't forget Cash Guns Chaos :P

That makes 4. Like I said earlier, time to revive a different "classic" gameplay mechanic, this one is quite tired

I wish that more 3rd parties would release new content for the PSN. I mean, why is the 360 getting the PoP remake, but the PS3 not? Because of the userbase? I don't want every game to be on both platforms, but they really should start making games for PSN, exclusive or not.

More money to be made on XBL, on XBL 5/5 have to pay to download the title. With game sharing the amount of people that pay is decreased.

God. I had to delete Cash Guns Chaos off of my system because if I ever accidentally selected it in the XMB, it blasted the house out through the speakers.

Bad, Bad Santa Monica Studios!

I like the game, at first I had no idea what to do, but it gets pretty fun and challenging as you ply, if anything it's a lot better then the mouth breather style Cell Factor. I haven't Tried SSDHD yet but Nucleus seems like a different approach to the who top down shooter, and so far I really like it it's more then just shooting the enemies that come on screen.

They need to revive shmups that don't use the right stick to fire 'cause I hate it (altho SSDHD rocks).
i agree. more games like ikaruga. shooters with progression through some sort of story etc.

i did the art for this game for a small project:

i want to see what a professional team could pull off with 2D graphics with ps3.
