Oh, i'm perfectly well aware of what a DDoS is. I've been on the internet since the very beginning.
That doesn't change the fact that we are entitled to some form of compensation if this is going to happen pretty often.
 
i was still able to play online, just the friends section went offline for me. PSN gets hit and the ps4 side explodes. i own both, but it would be crazy to say psn is up to live in any way.

Yeah live is still mostly functional or near fully functional when this shit happens. Psn gets crippled invest some money into your backend sony jesus

Based on you agreeing to their ToS when signing up for their service, you are 100% not entitled to a form of compensation.

The only reason they would feel the need to do that is to ensure customer satisfaction. No legal need.

Compensation would mean a incentive for more people to do this imo.

Also this. This is like a ransom / terrorism situation. If they give in, it'll just make it worse.
 
God I hate this shit, don't they have anything better to do with there time? I means what's the point in attacking targets like PSN and XBL they aren't achieving anything apart from annoying gamers.

I always hate it when people say "Entitled!!" but this guy deserves it.

They have been Ddos'ing a lot of services. It sucks, but demanding compensation everytime isnt going to fix it.

Ugh...I can't stand this mindset. You're not entitled to anything. You have every right to move on from the product if you don't feel it's performing. You're making a choice to continually buy a product/service you don't feel is up to par.

Except when the service gets constantly hammered by hackers, just like the last huge PSN hack that happened before that left us in the dark for months.

Well Lizard Squad did attack Xbox last week didn't they? was only a matter of time before PSN was hit as well

I wonder do they all skype each other with livefeeds of stuff like this circle jerking watching people's reactions

The difference is steam or live don't becoke completely useless when one of these attacks happens. Not even close. Sony and psn does. Every. Damn. Time.

There's thousands of originating points for the attacks. It's impossible to track down. You need FBI level assistance to deal with this situation, as it needs to be dealt with forensically and criminally.

They should improve their load balancing and have better anti-DDOS solution in place, but even Microsoft which has a better network, suffered the same fate.

There's a large difference between this and a breach. This is not a breach, they are just flooding the network connection. Breach a company is liable for, a DDOS attack they are not.
